Focusing on the construction of the safest province for mothers and babies, Wenzhou City has piloted a smart mother-baby friendly ward (S-LDR) in Wenzhou People's Hospital (Wenzhou Women and Children's Hospital), and used smart technology to create a modern delivery room with "temperature", which was widely praised by the masses.

LDR (Labor-Delivery-Recovery) wards are waiting-delivery-postpartum recuperation in the same single room. Its equipment is suitable for all waiting and delivery processes except caesarean section and delivery requiring general anesthesia. Wenzhou People's Hospital launched the LDR ward in 2008, which was widely praised by pregnant mothers and their families. On January 11, 2022, in order to further enhance the delivery experience of pregnant mothers and promote the implementation of the "three-child" birth policy, the hospital officially launched the Smart Mother-Infant Friendly Ward (S-LDR). S-LDR: S stands for Smart Smart, Technology Science, Security Security, Super Super, Sister Sister. Relying on 5G technology, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and other technologies, the Smart Mother and Baby Friendly Ward (S-LDR) has created a complete smart maternal and child service system, focusing on the concept of "safety" and "wisdom" services, giving many elements of science and technology, humanities and medical treatment, bringing safer and better services to mothers and babies. Compared to traditional modes of delivery, S-LDR has the following advantages:

Home-based waiting environment
The decoration of the S-LDR as a whole adopts a family style, and hides the production emergency equipment in the form of murals or closets, alleviating the tension during maternity. Taking the comfort of mother and baby as the starting point, we make a caring voice-activated room system, and the music, lights, curtains, and toilets in the ward are all contactless and voice-activated. There are also smart toilets, smart faucets, smart hand sanitizer bottles, etc. in the ward, which fully meet the needs of pregnant women, so that women can also enjoy a warm production environment and thoughtful medical care in the hospital.

Intelligent facilities to protect the safety of mothers and babies
S-LDR from the beginning of labor pain to the birth, recovery period, are spent in the same room, the bed can be changed into a delivery bed at the same time, the mother from a hospital to give birth, childbirth to postpartum recuperation do not need to change the bed, to ensure the safety of mothers and babies. Medical staff can consult through the intelligent system bedside to retrieve maternal medical records and other information. Nurses can use smart terminals (chip wristbands, IPADs, etc.) to inquire about medical orders, check information, execute medical orders, and health education. During childbirth, a medical team of obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and midwives will be escorted. At the same time, the ward is equipped with a newborn intelligent mattress-type breathing monitor, and the medical staff can observe the abnormal condition of the newborn in time and intervene in time to grasp the best treatment time by monitoring breathing.

Provide mother-and-baby friendly medical services
S-LDR provides "mother-infant-centric" medical services. For example, bedside maternal psychological assessment, newborn growth and development assessment, nursing newborn bathing touch, neonatal skin contact, newborn disease screening blood collection, postpartum ultrasound examination... These projects can be carried out at the bedside to avoid the mother running back and forth.
Carry out newborn intellectual care, touching, swimming and other projects to stimulate the development of the baby's sensory organs, enhance the baby's physiological growth and nervous system response, promote the baby's physical and mental development, while increasing the baby's cognition of the external environment, deepening the feelings between parents and children.
Provide doula childbirth, when the mother has regular contractions, in addition to the family, there will be experienced midwives to accompany, observe the birth process, teach childbirth skills, answer difficult questions, provide physiological and psychological care, responsible for delivery and postpartum observation. Non-drug analgesic deliveries such as hot compresses such as mugwort, music aromatherapy, and free-body delivery and labor analgesia (painless delivery) were introduced to alleviate the pain of childbirth for expectant mothers.

Postpartum extended services
