On February 20th, the 2022 Dongfeng Nissan e-POWER Comparison Test Drive Meeting and Fujian Media Appreciation Meeting was successfully opened in Fuzhou. I had the pleasure of going to test drive an e-POWER model from Technology Nissan.
As one of the earliest car companies to try to save energy and reduce emissions and reduce carbon emissions, Nissan has not spent less time on environmental protection, and the research and development of pure electric technology has exceeded 70 years so far, and the e-POWER technology is known for the innovative technology closest to EV.
Of course, as a real money to buy a car, for consumers who use cars. What we care about most is not whether its technology is exquisite enough, how much money it spends, how much time it spends on research and development. But this energy-saving car built with heart, in the end:
1. Is it better to drive than a fuel vehicle? 2. Is it fuel efficient?
It sounds quite realistic, but this is also the most real reason to choose a car in addition to the vanity advertising. E-POWER is actually simple and rough, and can be understood as a small battery version of an extended range electric vehicle. There is no ideal model to carry the weight, but it can achieve the best results.
The venues involved in this test drive are all long-distance test drives in Fuzhou City, starting from the Sheraton Fuzhou Zhonggeng Hotel, passing through many sections including the second and third ring roads, the old city, urban tourist attractions, net red punch card places, and Guling Duowanshan Road.

Nissan's power system, whether it is a paper technical discussion or a road surface combat, is much more interesting than other brands. It's the kind of model where you're willing to work on its technology and enjoy driving in the car.

Subjective driving, e-POWER opens more smoothly than the fuel CVT, taking Xuanyi's e-POWER as a reference, the power is stronger than the 1.6L version, but it does not have the feeling of the electric motor instantaneous torque burst and the instantaneous acceleration of the EV model.
You can understand it as the EV kit version of the fuel car: that is, you can obviously know that it is a fuel car when driving, but the EV kit is blessed, and the overall performance is much smoother than the fuel car, and the instantaneous torque is also much larger.
In short, you think of it as a "Super Saiyan rank, no delay, smooth CVT" oil car.
After all, Nissan took great pains to come up with such a thing, hoping to get a high-horsepower driving experience with a small displacement engine. Whether it is in urban congestion, mountain bends, suburban open spaces, and the highways of the second and third ring urban areas, this car is indeed very consistent in showing a very good driving and fun side.
Soul Question 2: Save or not?
This car has no charging port, and there is no battery life anxiety of the tram. But it also means that all the energy of e-POWER comes only from gasoline.
If you think you're going to run out of fuel in this way, you're dead wrong.
Nissan not only does not eat oil, the overall efficiency will be higher, the mechanical energy of the engine output shaft is all converted into electrical energy, part of the battery charging, the other part of the drive motor. There is no direct engine drive vehicle, and there is no need to do power coupling and decoupling between the engine output shaft and the motor. The engine operates in the efficient range at all times, reducing fuel consumption.
Besides, the efficiency of the electric motor is inherently better than that of the internal combustion engine, and the battery pack has its role no matter how small it is. For reference, the peak torque of the new car is 300N·m peak torque, and the fuel consumption of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is as low as 3.9L/100km.
The first batch of car owners, Mr. Wang Shunping, was invited to the media exchange meeting, and his car experience sharing showed the most real feelings and choices, and also shared the specific car experience such as fuel consumption.
Combined with the fuel gauge data of the test drive and the communication of the owners, e-POWER does have low fuel consumption, and the comprehensive level is between 4 and 4.5L after daily driving.
This level is really very strong, to know that the achievements of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology no car can be fully achieved, from the first batch of car owners to the current owners, in the hard drive, multi-scene driving, everyone's driving habits are different under the premise, but also so stable to this level, e-POWER's fuel-saving strength can be seen!
As for NVH, after all, with the "electricity" element, the noise control will be much better than that of fuel vehicles, but it is not quieter than large battery EV cars.
But this restrained voice is what I want. After all, it is completely silent, and I always feel that the car has no soul...
