As the first e-POWER model to be introduced into the Chinese market, e-POWER Xuanyi was officially delivered at the end of December 2021 after its launch at the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show.

As one of Nissan's three major power field layouts, e-POWER strives to provide the advantages of fusing fuel, pure electricity and hybrid technology routes at present, and is known for its "new driving experience" of "fast, smooth, quiet and economical". e-POWER has been tested and well received by the market, and in December 2021, two models endorsed by e-POWER won the 2021-2022 Japan Model of the Year Award.

Behind the "new driving experience"

e-POWER Xuanyi, how to achieve the "new driving experience" of "fast, smooth, quiet and economical"?

e-POWER technology is labeled as a fusion power, and e-POWER gives its own solution. From the technical principle, the e-POWER model is driven by electricity throughout the driving, and the internal combustion engine is only used for power generation, not involved in driving the car, and always works in the best working conditions.

One by one, "fast" refers to faster acceleration, from the most intuitive parameter performance, e-POWER Xuanyi's acceleration time of 0~50km/h is 3.8s, and the acceleration time of 0~100km/h is 9.8s. Behind the eye-catching parameters, it is equipped with a high-power professional motor, which can output 300N·m of the maximum peak torque of the same level in the initial stage, with extremely high driving efficiency and strong power output.

At the same time, e-POWER Xuanyi uses a small capacity battery with a large compression of battery volume and weight, thereby reducing the burden on the whole vehicle, but this also puts forward exceptionally high requirements for the charge and discharge rate of the battery. Thanks to Nissan's long-term accumulation in electric drive and battery management technology, this difficulty has been overcome, and e-POWER Xuanyi adopts a power-type battery, which has the function of rapid energy storage and instant release, and responds quickly to various working conditions.

"Shun" and "Jing" refer to smooth driving and higher tranquility, respectively.

Specifically, the reason why e-POWER Xuanyi can get a smoother driving experience, on the one hand, comes from its 100% motor drive, power linear output, on the other hand, Nissan's unique motor control technology, the inverter controls the motor with an accuracy of 1/10000 seconds, suppresses torsional resonance, and makes the acceleration smoother.

In terms of tranquility, e-POWER Xuanyi shouted that its "quiet performance is good, listening to music and conversation in the cab without interference" under cruising conditions, from a technical point of view, it can intelligently match the timing of the internal combustion engine start according to the speed and road environment conditions to achieve a good sense of tranquility.

The "provincial" aspect, which has attracted much attention from users, specifically refers to saving money, worry and time.

From the data point of view, e-POWER Xuanyi's fuel consumption is as low as 3.9L/100km, so the fuel economy is behind the use of internal combustion engines with thermal efficiency of up to 43%, and the internal combustion engine continues to be in the best working range during operation. In addition, due to the different technical principles, the e-POWER model refueling and refueling method is undoubtedly faster.

Implementing the "Dual Carbon Target"

With the background of global warming and the country's implementation of the "double carbon target", Dongfeng Nissan also assumes the responsibility of the head car company and actively practices energy conservation and emission reduction.

From the perspective of the development status of the automobile industry, because pure electric models need time to solve some technical problems, reduce costs, improve supporting facilities, etc., users are facing a diversified power market, energy-saving vehicles have huge development space, Dongfeng Nissan actively introduces e-POWER technology to promote the process of electric drive in the automotive industry.

Xin Yu, general manager of Dongfeng Nissan Automobile Sales Co., Ltd., recently said that e-POWER technology has created a unique technical concept that combines the optimized internal combustion engine and electric system to achieve complementary advantages, "making the carbon emissions of e-POWER models in the whole life cycle significantly reduced", which plays an important role in carbon reduction in the industry.

e-POWER technology has been tested by the market. The cumulative sales of e-POWER models in Japan have exceeded 500,000 units, and note e-POWER ranks among the top sales of compact models in Japan; in December 2021, two models endorsed by e-POWER won the 2021-2022 Japan Model of the Year Award.

According to Dongfeng Nissan's plan, after e-POWER Xuanyi, Dongfeng Nissan will continue to launch e-POWER models in 2022, and it is expected to complete the launch of 10 electric drive models by 2025, including 7 e-POWER models and 3 Zero Emission Nissan pure electric models.
