With the "Korean Movement 598" presidential election looming, whether the auto policy that South Koreans are most looking forward to can be implemented

With the election of the 20th South Korean president less than a month away, each candidate is now publicly promising what they would do for their citizens if they became president to get more votes. Among the presidential candidates' commitments to the people, there are many policies related to automobiles, covering many areas such as new energy vehicles and road traffic safety.

So recently the South Korean media conducted a survey, as a citizen, what is the most expected implementation of the automobile policy? Let's take a look at this article.

[1] The introduction of official car license plates ranked fifth

The fifth place is the introduction of special license plates for official vehicles, with 2551 people (10.40%) choosing.

This is the policy that one of the presidential candidates proposed to commit to. Because some of the official vehicles currently operated in the South Korean government are not lacking in some high-end official vehicles. And official cars are not effectively distinguished from traditional private cars, so there will be some corruption or private use of buses. As we all know, the current practice in China is that all official cars will have special spraying and reporting telephones, but the South Korean practice is to give all official cars a special license plate number.

[2] Expand subsidies for electric vehicles

Expanding subsidies for electric vehicles was chosen by 3863 people (15.74%), ranking fourth.

Governments around the world have given similar policies for the development of new energy vehicles, and we in China are vigorously stimulating the sales and development of pure electric vehicles through subsidies, in fact, the Korean market is the same.

Because South Korea's land area is very small and the population is relatively concentrated, the popularity of pure electric vehicles, including the construction of charging infrastructure, is much simpler than in China. Therefore, many presidential candidates are currently announcing that they will continue to expand subsidies for pure electric vehicles and build more high-speed charging piles. And it is also necessary to further reduce the price of charging.

[3] Remove the speed bump

Third place was the speed bump removal policy supported by 4576 people (18.65%).

When we drive, we will encounter speed bumps, but speed bumps will bring a lot of inconvenience, first of all, when passing through the speed bumps, the comfort of the ride will become worse, and secondly, when we see the speed bumps, our repeated braking and re-acceleration will cause fuel waste. And when braking, it will produce a certain amount of dust, which will also damage the health of pedestrians.

The current alternative to speed bumps is to set up a warning sign where deceleration is required and equipped with a speed camera to punish vehicles that exceed the speed.

[4] Devices to prevent drunk driving

What is a device to prevent drunk driving? Simply put, if you drink alcohol, then you sit in the main driver's seat and there is no way to start the vehicle normally. There were 4,990 people, accounting for 20.3% of whom chose to force the installation of drunk driving prevention devices.

But in terms of specific details, whether it is necessary to have this configuration standard on all cars is yet to be discussed, with some presidential candidates saying that it is mandatory for drivers who have drunk driving twice or more. In addition, some candidates said that they will enforce drunk treatment for habitual drunk driving, and prevent drunk driving through systematic improvement of educational content. Further commitments were made to establish a national centre for drunk driving treatment and to use part of the liquor tax levied on shochu and beer to prevent drunk driving and support victims.

【5】Motorcycle front license plate

Motorcycles in Korea also come with license plates, but they are usually only hung on the back of the motorcycle, and they do not have a license plate in front of the motorcycle. However, there were 8560 people, and 34.88% of them supported that the front of the motorcycle would also be played for cards.

Due to the epidemic, the demand for delivery has increased, so the number of recent two-wheeler sales in South Korea, including traffic violations, has also more than doubled compared to the past. If the vehicle is only equipped with a license plate on the rear, it is not easy to be captured and it is difficult to find the perpetrator.

Now motorcycles in many countries, including China, Indonesia, Singapore and so on, have the license plate in front. And there are also presidential candidates who have announced that if elected, they will control the noise of motorcycles.
