The so-called good artists refer to those who have always maintained a state in the depths of their hearts. This state may be a natural temperament, or a kind of light, and it can always illuminate itself. Of course, the most important thing is that you can use a special form to illuminate others. This is also the most valuable meteorological and spiritual character of the artist. In my opinion, Zhang Dana, who comes from the land of Qilu, is an excellent painter who belongs to this type.
These days, I have been carefully reading a large number of works circulated by Zhang Dena on the Internet, from her brushwork flowers and birds to her characters, as well as a large number of articles written by those part-time workers, marveling at her diligence and talent, there is also her heartfelt enthusiasm and praise for life. I even wondered what kind of mental journey and spiritual encounter it was that made her like a lyric poet, with a unique brush and ink style and painting elements full of personalized language characteristics, to create such a natural opportunity and a messy picture of the world. In fact, such a topic, even she herself may not be able to really answer. Because, like other art forms, painting seems to be able to perceive but not to interpret in words, and to use language or reason to frame a painting, or to interpret the motivation of the painter's creation, it should be said that it is a kind of interpretation and looking at the wind. Therefore, here we still intuitively try to observe her work as much as possible, and follow it into her spiritual world.
Zhang Dena's paintings, the first impression I have on is bright. The tone of her work belongs to the "southern" style. Whether it is flowers, birds and characters, there is a distinct geographical and cultural quality. At first glance, I suddenly thought of some of the moods of Lingnan painting, remembered the second high school and one Chen, remembered He Xiangning, Fang Rending, and Zhao Shaoang and Yang Shanshen. I also remembered the tropical customs and nostalgia of their pens. Zhang Dana's works do carry some of these characteristics. Especially her boneless flowers and birds works, that kind of neatness and beauty, if she does not deliberately undertake to learn, it is the true sense of "Tao Miao secret union"!
The flower and bird paintings of the new period, to be precise, have become more interspersed with certain features of Western painting. This, of course, is at stake with the times, but it is also more at stake with people. Knowing that Zhang Dena is also studying oil painting and watercolor while painting Chinese painting, this integration and penetration can indeed get news from her works. For example, her concern for shape, sensitivity to tone, and the background and background of each of her works clearly reflect the richness of her painting language. Therefore, we say that her paintings of flowers and birds are indeed based on tradition and add a style of her own.
Secondly, Zhang Dena's figure paintings also left a deep impression on me. In particular, the zhuang and Yao sketching series, the rustic shape, the elegant color, quite seen in the old style, reminiscent of Yun Nantian and Jin Dongxin, the spiritual interest revealed by their works is also quite different from the wind of the times, or can also be borrowed from the ancients to talk about calligraphy "ancient times are not obedient, now different drawbacks" and comparison.
In terms of pen and ink, a group of works written by Zhang Dena may be more traditional. For example, her paintings of "Mandarin Duck Daffodils" and "Squirrel Series" fully reflect her pursuit and skill in pen and ink, and here, it is also quite a vein of the style of Mr. Sun Qifeng.
In short, Zhang Dena is a painter with diverse artistic vision and a balance of traditional times. In her works, there are bright tones, there are also substantive brushstrokes, there are virtual realms, and there are also real presents. In fact, this is not the situation of life. Only those artists who can truly express their hearts can paint works that can enter the hearts of the people. At this point, I can feel that Zhang Dana is a person full of true feelings.
As far as the style paradigm of art is concerned, Zhang Dana's overall appearance belongs to the kind of implicit, introverted, thick and thin hair. It is only in those handy "gongbi flowers and birds" that she occasionally expresses the flapping of personality with warm brilliance. Of course, the quest for art is, in fact, the growth of the artist's soul. We have reason to believe that with the hardening of time and years, the painter will change her true inner temperament, which is not only a topic of art, but also involves many secrets at the spiritual level.
In Zhang Dena's works, she likes to use blue tones as a background color, whether it is a preference or a symbol, I don't know here. But I know that blue is deep, vast, broad, clear and bright. I hope that the artistic creative vision of the painter Zhang Dena can always maintain youth, and it is deep, vast, broad, and more importantly, there is always a beam of light in the heart.
