On the morning of February 18, NIO signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hefei University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as "Hegong University") in Hefei. The two sides decided to carry out in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the fields of scientific and technological research and development and achievement promotion, talent training, innovation capacity building, etc., jointly promote the integration of industry, education, research and application, and promote the innovation and development of the industry.
According to the agreement, NIO and HEGONG will jointly build a scientific and technological cooperation platform "HEGONG-NIO Innovation Research Institute", bring together global innovation resources, and build it into an industry-university-research collaborative innovation center of "applied basic research + technical research + transformation and incubation of scientific and technological achievements + innovation and entrepreneurship". The institute plans to carry out innovative research and development in the fields of forward-looking technology, key common technology and engineering application technology and high-end equipment manufacturing technology of intelligent electric vehicles, and accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological research results into industrial technology.
At the same time, NIO and HEGONG will cooperate in terms of joint talent training and innovation capacity building, including supporting NIO to declare and build a postdoctoral workstation for enterprises, jointly building an engineering laboratory and engineering research center in the field of intelligent electric vehicles, and providing social practice and off-campus internship bases for NIO.
At present, the major industrialization project "Research and Industrialization Application of 5G Intelligent Connected Vehicles under Expected Functional Safety" jointly undertaken by WEILAI and Hegong University has achieved phased results. The two sides will take this as a starting point to further plan and build a world-class intelligent networked vehicle research and test platform.
Hefei University of Technology is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, a national "211 Project" key construction university, and a "985 Project" advantageous discipline innovation platform university, and entered the ranks of national "double first-class" construction universities in 2017.
NIO continues to promote the in-depth integration of industry, education and research, and has previously reached a strategic cooperation with the University of Science and Technology of China. Next, NIO will further promote cooperation between enterprises and universities, form complementary advantages, and promote the transformation of scientific research and technological achievements.
