Ms. Shi Yongjing, Counsellor of the Cultural Affairs Department of the Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Japan, sent a congratulatory message, in which she said: At the difficult moment when the epidemic is still raging, it is even more necessary to warm people's hearts with cultural lights. The organizers overcame difficulties and actively built a platform for exchanges between young artists in China and Japan, and were very happy to receive support and response from many art universities in China and Japan. I believe that the significance of this exhibition has gone beyond the artistic exchange itself, and has brought spiritual joy and spiritual comfort to people in the epidemic. It is of great significance for China and Japan to usher in the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations, and it is also a new starting point for creating future-oriented Sino-Japanese relations and Sino-Japanese friendship. I wish the exhibition a complete success!

Yang Jianxing, director of the Cultural Affairs Department of the Japan-China Friendship Association, attended the opening ceremony through the Internet and delivered a speech in Chinese and Japanese bilingual, saying: China and Japan are neighbors who cannot move home, and they should have been connected at the same level. This exhibition is only part of it, an opportunity for students to learn from each other and improve each other, while also impressing and inspiring visitors of different ages, and further deepening mutual understanding between the two peoples. This kind of folk culture exchange between Japan and China must be passed on from generation to generation. Congratulations on the successful exhibition!

Curator Qian Yabo, director of the Tokyo Art Institute of Shanghai Wutong Art Museum, said in an interview with this reporter: "The purpose of the exhibition we considered at the beginning was to plan and operate the exhibition held in Shanghai, China, with Japanese students as the main body. This is not just to show their works in an environment like China, but to go to the local area with their own feet, to experience the cultural differences first-hand, and to look forward to becoming an opportunity to meet and communicate with Chinese students. However, the epidemic caused this plan to be postponed several times until the students were close to graduation, and we overcame difficulties to decide to successfully organize the exhibition in a synchronous manner between the two places. The 'Daozhi' in the exhibition's title quotes the Chinese four-character idiom 'like-minded', meaning 'the same path of aspiration'. In addition, the homophony of 'Doshi' has the same meaning in Japan. What kind of reactions will we get when exhibiting our work in a country that is different from the environment in which we were born and raised? This exhibition is an opportunity, and it also includes the meaning that the scope of our students' activities will also be extended overseas. Exploring the way for young people and matchmaking to enhance cultural exchanges between young people in China and Japan is of long-term importance.
