preface

Many people in today's society have lost their way and gone down the wrong path, especially those intellectuals who had a good education and a promising future.

Shi Ping, a former high-profile student of Peking University, has gone from brilliant to the point where no one cares, and Shi Ping's remarks and actions have aroused strong indignation in Chinese society.

But his final outcome was beyond many people's expectations, and people couldn't help but feel some of the joy of "justice will eventually return", what led him to go from a young student who was expected to become a talented person to a person who openly defended Japan and slandered the motherland?

How did he finally usher in a complete "reckoning"? So how exactly did Shi Ping come to his own tragedy?

Top students of Peking University

Shi Ping's story can be traced back to the ordinary family he was born in, he came from Chengdu, Sichuan, and his living conditions were not superior, and it was this background that allowed him to learn how to change his destiny through learning from an early age.

Although the family was not wealthy, his parents were very supportive of his education, and they tried their best to provide him with all possible help in order to prevent Shi Ping from limiting his future due to family conditions.

This parent's love and expectation has become the driving force for Shi Ping's progress, Shi Ping's academic performance has always been among the best, and he has been an excellent student in the eyes of teachers and classmates since he was a child.

Because of this, Shi Ping had the opportunity to usher in the first major turning point in his life in 1980 and was admitted to the Department of Philosophy of Peking University, which was not only an affirmation of his personal efforts, but also an opportunity for an ordinary rural child to change his fate.

After entering Peking University, Shi Ping did not indulge in the bustling metropolis life, he still maintained an attitude of studying hard, and strived to make a breakthrough in academics.

The university life was very smooth, not only did he achieve excellent results academically, but he also received many academic opportunities and the support of his mentors, and even after graduation, he had the opportunity to continue his postgraduate studies.

However, during this time, Shi Ping's heart underwent subtle changes, although he had always been eager to return to his country through study, and gradually he began to have doubts about the situation at home, and was attracted to the advanced lifestyle and high salary abroad.

Shi Ping had more hesitation and anxiety when thinking about the future, so after completing his undergraduate studies, Shi Ping chose to study abroad.

The tutor valued Shi Ping's efforts and talents, and believed that he could learn more valuable knowledge by studying abroad, and eventually contribute more to the country, so Shi Ping got the opportunity to study abroad at public expense.

Going to Kobe University in Japan to study for a doctorate, at first Ishihira still cherished the dream of serving his motherland, and he planned to return to China after completing his studies to use the knowledge he had learned for national construction, but things did not go as planned.

After coming to Japan, Shi Ping gradually attracted to this prosperous land, which was far more modern than he knew China, and was deeply attracted by the superior living conditions and social environment.

He began to reduce his ties to his home country and even showed some slack in his studies, and the comfort of living in Japan gradually took over his inner dominance.

The former patriotic feelings and the dream of returning to China to serve seemed to be gradually worn out in this land, and all these changes made Ishihira's determination begin to waver, and he no longer considered returning to his homeland, and decided to stay in Japan and start his new life.

Behind the naturalization of Japanese nationality

Although Ishihira's life experience began to change behind the glitz and glamour of Japan, his decision far exceeded expectations at the time, and after living in Japan for a few years, Ishihira's mentality changed profoundly.

Driven by the fact that he began to resist and reject his Chinese identity, and even considered it a "burden", Shi Ping made the decision to change his identity.

In 2007, Ishihira officially became a Japanese citizen and changed his name to "Taro Ishihira", a decision that marked his farewell to his former homeland identity and became a "spiritual Japanese".

For Ishihira, it seemed to mean that he had received higher recognition and more opportunities to become a Japanese citizen, and that he believed that he had completely integrated with Japan and began to express his loyalty to Japanese society.

His rhetoric became more intense, especially in front of the media, and he defended Japan more frequently and tried to discredit China's status quo.

Publicly stating that he is "proud to be Japanese" and claiming that he "is a pity to be born in China" not only stung many Chinese, but also made some Japanese people feel puzzled and disdainful.

He repeatedly made statements in the Japanese media that did not conform to the facts, wantonly smeared China, especially on historical issues, and he began to defend the history of Japanese aggression and even denied the existence of the Nanjing Massacre.

These remarks are undoubtedly providing moral support to Japan's right-wing forces and catering to certain ultra-nationalist sentiments in Japan.

So he gained a certain amount of media exposure and attention in Japan, and Shi Ping did not seem to realize that he was gradually moving towards isolation, and the Japanese public did not react to Shi Ping as enthusiastically as he expected.

On the contrary, more and more Japanese began to express dissatisfaction with his behavior, and his remarks were too extreme, which made some Japanese people resentful, and some behaviors were regarded as "excessive flattery", which aroused doubts in Japanese society.

This kind of rhetoric has undoubtedly made him the object of anger of the Chinese people, who not only slandered China's history, but also hurt the feelings of the Chinese people, and Shi Ping was regarded as a "traitor" in China, and this label with a strong insulting nature made him the focus of society.

For Shi Ping, none of this seems to have stopped him from continuing to speak out in the media, and when the Wenchuan earthquake struck China in 2008, countries around the world came to offer aid to China to express sympathy.

Even Japan has helped China's disaster, but Shi Ping has made outrageous statements behind this global charity, claiming that China is poor and backward and that it is not worth donations from other countries.

Four years later, the outbreak of the Diaoyu Dao issue became another peak in Shi Ping's remarks, and although the Diaoyu Dao has been China's territory since ancient times, Shi Ping openly claimed that the Diaoyu Dao belonged to Japan, which was undoubtedly a great provocation to China's territorial integrity.

Not only did he abandon his identity as a Chinese, but he also defended Japan's actions in territorial disputes, which made him a street rat in Chinese society, and his name became a stain in the eyes of everyone and synonymous with a traitor.

The price of betrayal

Although Ishihira's remarks made him famous in Japan's right-wing media for a time, over time his influence gradually waned, and he eventually fell into isolation.

Although the anti-China remarks have gained some support from the Japanese right-wing forces, this support has not brought him substantial benefits, and he has never been truly accepted in Japan.

On the contrary, he became more and more marginalized, and what was once a high-profile appearance in the Japanese media gradually turned into his lonely and helpless current situation, and Shi Ping's career in Japan did not achieve the expected success.

He never really integrated into Japanese society, and although he tried various ways to gain more social status for himself, his actions and words never brought him social approval.

His radical rhetoric not only aroused the disgust of some Japanese people, but also made Japanese society suspicious of him, and Ishihei also tried to strengthen his position in Japan through marriage, and only in 2011, he married a Japanese woman.

But the marriage did not change him, and as time went on, Shi Ping's life became more and more difficult, and he could not even find a decent job, and he could only barely make ends meet on a meager salary, and his quality of life was extremely poor.

In his later years, Shi Ping's life was full of loneliness and poverty, and even his wife in Japan left him because she was disappointed in his behavior.

Along the way, he lost all social identity and became a laughing stock in the eyes of people, and he once had a bright future and countless expectations in Chinese society.

Now he has become an outcast from society, and his actions have not only deprived him of the support of his relatives, but also made his life in Japan more and more difficult.

Shi Ping's life can be said to be a typical example of "self-inflicted", in which he traded his choices for the fate of isolation, poverty, and social abandonment.

epilogue

Shi Ping's story is a reminder of betrayal and loss, as he betrays the dignity of his country for the sake of momentary gain, and ends up being the object of spittle.

Those who stick to their hearts and are loyal to the country and the nation will eventually leave their own name in the long river of history, just like each of us, only by sticking to our beliefs can we be rewarded.
