Curse of the Ming Tomb: When digging, an old man suddenly came to stop it, and then strange events kept happening

For the treasure book, excavate the imperial tomb

After the "three major transformations" at the beginning of the founding of the mainland, all construction projects were in ruins and waiting to be rebuilt. At this time, our country not only vigorously supported economic and industrial construction, but also supported the construction of literature and art, and the representative of the literary and artistic circles at that time was Guo Moruo, who we are familiar with.

In 1956, Guo Moruo drafted a report on the request to develop the Changling Tombs in the Ming Tombs. Changling is the burial place of Ming Chengzu Zhu Di and his empress, and is the largest mausoleum among the Ming Tombs, known as the head of the Ming Tombs.

Guo Moruo's idea of developing the Ming Changling Tombs has long been there, and at the same time, a large number of cultural figures such as the famous Ming historian Wu Han and the literary zheng zhenduo are not in harmony with Guo Moruo's idea of advocating the development of the Ming Changling Tombs, and they have only one goal - the Yongle Canon.

In his report, Guo Moruo pointed out that excavating the Changling Tomb may lead to the mining of the Yongle Canon to make up for the lack of cultural level in our country. In fact, it is mainly Guo Moruo's selfishness, because once the Yongle Canon is discovered, it can also make his achievements in literature a step higher.

After the report was handed over, after repeated discussions by the relevant departments, it was finally decided to excavate the Ming Chang Mausoleum.

After guo Moruo received a positive reply, he immediately formed an archaeological team and began to investigate near the Ming Changling Tomb, and as a result, nearly a month passed, and the entrance to the Changling Tomb was not found. In desperation, after discussion, the Changling Excavation Committee decided to develop a relatively small mausoleum first. At this time, the dedication entered the eyes of the archaeological excavation team.

Xianling is the mausoleum of Zhu Di's son Zhu Gaoxu, and there is no other purpose in choosing the xianling, one is that the xianling is relatively close to the Changling, and the other is that the xianling is relatively small. The archaeologists walked around the xianling for more than ten days, but they did not find an authentic entrance.

Temporary change, excavation of the tomb

In desperation, the archaeologists at this time considered that the Ming Ding Tomb was built earlier and was better preserved, so they decided to develop the Ding Tomb.

This time, the archaeologists had better luck and found the underground entrance to Dingling in a few days. But the strange thing is that just as the archaeologists were about to start digging, the sky suddenly began to rain heavily, and this heavy rain was two months.

During this period, the news that the archaeologists wanted to develop the Ming Tombs was soon known to the people of the surrounding villages.

It was precisely because of the heavy rain that a strange disease was circulating in the surrounding villages at this time, and many people went crazy after falling ill.

At that time, the people were generally superstitious, they believed that this disease was the emperor's punishment for this offensive behavior of the archaeologists, so they began to block the development of the Ming Tombs, which greatly affected the progress of excavations.

Mysterious old man, stop digging

On this day, an old man dressed in shabby clothes came to the residence of the archaeologists, who claimed that there was an ancestral tomb book in the family, which wrote that on the other side of the Vajra Wall, was a river of life and death, and only those who matched the eight characters of the Wanli Emperor could cross it by boat on the river.

The old man told people not to dig this tomb, otherwise the consequences would be very serious and they would be punished by heaven.

The excavation work fell into a stalemate for a while, and everyone did not dare to take this risk, but Guo Moruo and others still insisted on excavation, and the archaeological excavation work had to continue.

A few days later, the archaeologists finally dug through the dungeon, but immediately from the dungeon came a pungent black smoke.

This smoke caught the archaeologists by surprise, because at that time, many people had no protective measures, and many people vomited on the ground after smelling this smoke.

When the black smoke cleared, the archaeologists emboldened each other and entered the dungeon. The sky began to rain again, and at the same time, thunder broke out in the sky, and suddenly the stone lion outside the dungeon was split, causing the two archaeologists guarding outside the dungeon to be killed by stones.

But at this time, the archaeologists who went deep into the underground palace still knew nothing about this. Inside the underground palace, the crowd pushed open the door of the tomb and entered the interior of the Dingling Tomb, and the archaeologists were shocked.

Dingling is worthy of the royal mausoleum, the mausoleum covers an area of about 1200 square meters, the decoration is extremely exquisite, and the funerary objects are countless. The main burial chamber contains the Ming Dynasty Wanli Emperor and his two empresses, Empress Xiaojing and Empress Xiaoduan.

Technology is limited and artifacts are damaged

As we all know, the archaeology industry on the mainland started very late. In the early years of the Republic of China, there was the first archaeological team, and later after the war, the mainland archaeology industry has been stagnant, the technology is very backward, and many archaeologists for archaeological excavation behavior is only at the theoretical level, so this archaeology for the cultural relics in the Dingling, this is a disaster.

Many of the funerary items in the Dingling Tomb are exquisite silk fabrics and paintings. Because archaeologists did not have sufficient experience in protecting cultural relics at that time, these funerary products were quickly oxidized and lost their original color.

The coffins of the Wanli Emperor and his empress were violently opened and the coffins of the Wanli Emperor were moved without authorization, resulting in damage to the bones in the coffins. A large number of iron products are also oxidation and rust, and what is even more surprising is that the archaeologists at that time were rude in counting the funerary products, destroying many cultural relics, the scene management was chaotic, and many cultural relics were even robbed by local people.

Later, when the leader was about to come to inspect, the coffins of the Wanli Emperor and his two empresses were thrown off the cliff in order to clean up, which was shocking!

A large number of cultural relics in dingling were destroyed due to inadequate technology. Many archaeologists and historians have been deeply distressed after seeing the Dingling excavation site, and regard the Dingling excavation as the greatest shame of the archaeological community.

They jointly opposed the continued excavation of the Ming Tombs. This matter caused a national sensation, and the central government also suspended the continued excavation of the Ming Tombs.

At this time, to the surprise of everyone, Guo Moruo once again submitted a request to the central government to request the development of the Ming Chang Mausoleum, and as a result, he was reprimanded by Premier Zhou, who instructed him not to make sufficient plans in the future, and not to easily excavate the imperial tomb, which was regarded as the protection of cultural relics.

This matter should have come to an end, but some of the archaeologists who participated in the excavation of the Ming Ding Tomb died of disease, some died mysteriously, some committed suicide, and some plane crashed. None of these archaeologists died. The Ming Tombs became the most mysterious existence in the Chinese archaeological community.
