Nissan Auto invested $500 million in its Canton plant in Mississippi, USA, and will start producing two new electric vehicles from Nissan and Infiniti in 2025.
Nissan's Canton plant will be operating for its 19th year this year and currently employs about 5,000 people. Since its commissioning in 2003, it has produced nearly 5 million new vehicles, and is currently producing Nissan Altima (corresponding to the domestic model Tianlai), Frontier, TITAN and TITAN XD models.
Previous public information shows that Nissan and Infiniti will achieve electrification transformation in 2030, and will launch a total of 23 electrified models, of which 15 are pure electric models. By 2030, 40 percent of Nissan's sales in the U.S. will be all-electric models.
