According to the current news, the frequency of DDR6 memory will be further improved than DDR5 memory, it is reported that the starting frequency of DDR6 memory will reach 8800MHz, which has exceeded the standard maximum frequency of DDR5 memory 8400MHz. The highest frequency is 17.6GHz, and the organization also said that in the future, with the improvement of technology, the frequency of DDR6 memory will be advanced to 21Gbps, in addition to the signal modulation technology of DDR6 memory is expected to use NRZ technology, which will bring better signal quality.

In addition to DDR6 memory, there is also news about LPDDR6 memory used by mobile phone manufacturers, which can reach up to 14.4Gbps, an increase of 50% compared with the current LPDDR5X, and this bandwidth increase is still quite obvious. The JEDEC organization hopes to launch the first draft of DDR6 and LPDDR6 memory standards this year, and then the manufacturers will feedback and submit modifications, and after continuous running-in, it is expected that the 1.0 official version will be launched in the second quarter of 2025, and then the manufacturers can engage in the production of DDR6 memory according to the memory standards provided by the JEDEC organization, and it is expected that the official commercial use will have to wait until 2026.
