On the afternoon of February 15, in the Huanyu Jinghui water electrolysis hydrogen production workshop located in Fangshan District, various machinery and equipment such as electrolyzers and purification equipment were running rapidly to continuously produce fuel for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in various areas of the Winter Olympic Games. In the yard outside the workshop, several hydrogen long-tube trailers are on standby, ready to transport this high-purity green clean energy from the production workshop to the front.
"The workshop can produce 500 cubic meters of hydrogen per hour, and it can fill a car in two hours. In total, we have more than 100 hydrogen long-tube trailers, which can hold about 350 kilograms of hydrogen per car, which is also the most common hydrogen transport device. The reporter learned that the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles used this time include Toyota's new Mirai second-generation passenger car, the Toyota Costa minibus that has been developed and produced locally for the first time, and the bus developed by Toyota and Foton for the first time, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 18.79 kg, 47.01 kg and 57.86 kg per 100 kilometers, respectively.
Among them, mirai is used as a VIP car, the first large-scale introduction to the Chinese market; Costa hydrogen engine is specially designed and developed for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, developed by Toyota China R&D Center, and produced in Sichuan FAW Toyota, which is also the first time that Toyota Motor has realized the whole process of hydrogen fuel cell technology from research and development to production overseas. In addition, the number of hydrogen energy buses in this Winter Olympics has also set a record for the largest number of international sports events served by hydrogen fuel cell large buses in history.
At the same time of green environmental protection, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles also have super performance, can be started in a low temperature environment of minus 30 degrees Celsius, stored in a low temperature environment of minus 40 degrees Celsius and automatically protected by shutdown, and the mileage of the bus is more than 400 kilometers. In terms of transportation service guarantee for the Winter Olympics, the complete hydrogen fuel cell vehicle is provided by Toyota and Foton, the hydrogen fuel cell stack is provided by Toyota, the hydrogen fuel cell system of the bus is integrated by Yihuatong, and the hydrogen cylinder, air compressor and other parts are mainly supplied by Beijing enterprises.
According to the official statistics of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, among the transportation service vehicles used in the Winter Olympic Games, energy-saving and clean energy vehicles accounted for 100% of the passenger cars and 85.84% of all vehicles, which was the highest in the previous Winter Olympics.
