There is still a full month to go before the world debut of Volkswagen ID.Buzz, and recently foreign media revealed that this highly anticipated pure electric MPV model will be displayed for the first time in the "South by Southwest (SXSW)" music festival in Austin, USA on March 11. Interestingly, Austin also happens to be an important production base for Tesla.

This will be the first time the model will meet the public offline, as its global new car launch will take place in the form of a webcast on March 9. To celebrate the "birth" of the model, Volkswagen will build various "Buzz stations" in Austin, Texas, USA, for visitors and local residents attending the SXSW Music Festival to experience this pure electric model.
In addition, during the South by Southwest Music Festival, Volkswagen ID.Buzz cars will travel back and forth between two stations near the Austin Convention Center to broadcast information and entertainment programs to nearby people, and it is reported that Volkswagen ID.Buzz signed a large three-year sponsorship agreement with the South by Southwest Music Festival.
Scott Keogh, CEO of Volkswagen America Group, said: "Whether in the U.S. or globally, Volkswagen's vans have always been a symbol of cultural ideals that inspire change and drive progress. South by Southwest's commitment to innovation and technology, combined with its exposure to culture and creativity, makes it the perfect showcase for ID.Buzz. Buzz will make its public appearance for the first time. We are delighted to be coming to Austin through volkswagen ID.Buzz to showcase the innovations of the latest member of the Volkswagen Group's electrified model range." ”
Thanks to the structural advantages of the MEB platform, Volkswagen ID.Buzz will provide the largest cargo space with a smaller body size. Volkswagen also promised that the new car would provide a "flexible and dynamic driving experience."
Volkswagen has started pre-production of ID.Buzz at its plant in Hanover, Germany. However, there is still very little accurate information about this model. According to previous reports, Volkswagen ID.Buzz will only appear in the FORM of long-wheelbase passenger-carrying MPV in the US market, while in Europe, a standard wheelbase MPV version will be launched, as well as a commercial van version.
