Zhang Hao introduced that the process of making guqin is called guqin hand axe, which is a skill that is made by hand using the Tang Dynasty harp cutting method, trying to excavate the original steps and adhere to the most traditional skills. "I think the traditional thing is the best, it has the vicissitudes of the years and the precipitation of culture, ten years and a hundred years later, looking back at it is still such a good thing, it can be passed down from generation to generation."
"The harp is also the heart". The long and tedious process of harp cutting pours out the good intentions of a harpist. The main process flow of the harp is the selection of materials, drawing, modeling, groove belly, accessories, heqin, shroud, scraping, polishing, emblem, paint polishing, polishing, winding, audition steps, each step is divided into many small processes, at least three years to complete.
The ancient harp is different from the modern mechanized mass production, "the shroud used in the harp is a national non-heritage ramie, the size of the face on the cloth, the length and thickness of the fibers are customized. Another example is the Yhap material, which uses the original antler cream, raw lacquer and glutinous rice as the bonding material, which dries for a long time and makes the sound more transparent and rich. Zhang Hao has more than 20 apprentices, and he is currently exploring vocal laboratories with his apprentices, that is, using modern technologies such as acoustics and data to retain traditional culture and skills.
