Education story: Today is a little harder than yesterday, tomorrow is a little better than today

author:Grade 9 Class Teacher

"Progress is a kind of excellence", "The playground is the heart of the school", "Sleep well and learn better"... As a native of "Yuying", I still remember that when Principal Liao Sishu came to Yuying School to put forward these concepts, from the beginning I heard some teachers' incomprehension or even opposition, and then witnessed these ideas being practiced step by step under the persistence of Principal Liao Sishu, and finally witnessing the great changes that these ideas brought to Yuying students, I deeply understand that this is the foundation that Yuying School can still stand in the Ouhai education that is so fiercely competitive today. At the same time, I am full of confidence that these ideas will bring great changes to Ouwai Campus. With this confidence, this semester, I have been busier than any previous semester, and I feel that I have passed faster than any previous semester, and I have gained more than ever.

Education story: Today is a little harder than yesterday, tomorrow is a little better than today

This semester, what surprised and proud me the most was the huge change that "progress is an excellent" for the students in my class. In the two school commendation meetings in the middle and final of the semester, Xie Yijun and Ding Yule of my class took the stage to receive the award as the only winning representatives of the ninth grade, so in my many experiences, I would like to share the stories of these two students with you.

Xie Yijun, this is a member of the school basketball team who ranked 284 in the end of the eighth semester and a total score of 180 points in 5 subjects, during the seventh and eighth grades, although there were few violations of discipline in the classroom, the requirements for themselves were always low, homework plagiarism occurred from time to time, the grade rankings were about 300 in the school, he was a down-to-earth latecomer, and Ding Yule, Fan Mawen, and Ye Yuliang formed the "diehards" of the ninth class. Any "accident" in the class can basically see his shadow. At the beginning of the ninth grade, Principal Liao Sishu told the students at the opening ceremony that he was once a "poor student" and put forward the concept of "progress is an excellent", and I mentioned this concept to my classmates again after returning to the classroom, and strongly promoted it, and the student's transformation road officially began.

Although Xie Yijun is tall and tall, according to the principle of group seat rotation, he was placed in a very high position in the classroom for the first two weeks, and I began to gradually find that his state was slowly changing, he began to actively express his ideas in class, and I was willing to capture even a slight positive change in this kind of student. Once, he said an idea that he was not very mature, and I immediately praised him and told other students that at the beginning of this semester, Xie Yijun made great progress, which is a kind of excellence! After that, I began to pay more attention to the problems he had in his daily learning, and would give him a small stove when the whole class practiced for a limited time, and give him some opportunities in the final exercise explanation session to let him go on stage to explain to the students. Since then, his interest in science has become more and more intense, and he will take the initiative to ask me questions at the podium after class, and will take the initiative to ask me some additional exercises after class. It is this kind of encouragement again and again, after a unit test, the students were surprised to find that Xie Yijun's scientific score has improved from 37 points at the end of the last semester to 70 points. I quickly took this opportunity to praise him, and he also repaid me with his practical actions, whether in the day's exam paper evaluation class or in the follow-up class, he showed great seriousness and could often express his own unique opinions. This state of affairs continued until the midterm, but I suddenly found that his upward momentum had somewhat declined, and he was occasionally distracted in class, and I often needed to remind him that although he had a few conversations after class, it was not very effective, and the midterm exams of this semester were about to begin. With the serious efforts of the early semester, although the review stage was in poor shape, he still made rapid progress of 70, reaching 210 in the grade, and the school also recommended him to accept the award as the representative of this progress award.

I found that the time came to add another oil to his momentum, taking the opportunity to take the opportunity to receive the award on stage, after returning to the class, I specially carried out the theme of "Why Xie Yijun's classmates progressed so fast", let Xie Yijun go on stage to share his learning experience, and mobilize all the students to help Xie Yijun supplement the reasons for rapid progress, so that on the one hand, all students can guide all students to learn from Xie Yijun, on the other hand, they can also take this opportunity to wake up Xie Yijun himself. Let him realize that the progress he has made now is not the result of short-term efforts overnight. And at the end of the class meeting, I made this summary: "Today's xie yijun progress seminar activities are not because his grades are the best in the class, but because he is the fastest progress in the class, in this school, in our class, progress is also an excellent, worthy of all students to learn to applaud." Sure enough, on the second day of the theme small class meeting, xie Yijun, who had worked hard at the beginning of the school year, returned, and even I heard words of appreciation for him in the mouths of teachers of more disciplines. After that, although he still occasionally slackened off, I would always use the example of his progress in the first half of the semester to motivate other students after the exam, but also to motivate himself, I often told my students, only more than a hundred days before the middle school exam, this hundred days you can be like Xie Yijun, work hard, to achieve from no high school to now can go to public vocational high school, and even impact the general high school. I never ask each of you to compare with the best classmates, I just hope that you can do it, today is a little harder than yesterday, tomorrow is a little better than today. In this final exam, although the overall difficulty is very large, Xie Yijun still passed the 176th place in the grade, becoming the fastest improving student in the school this semester.

Ding Yule is a student with a score of more than 100 in the school, he is talented and intelligent, but he always likes to play with a group of latecomers, the requirements for himself are also very low, and he always cannot control his playfulness, so his grades have basically regressed in the first two years, from 100 in the seventh grade to 200 in the eighth grade. The opportunity for Ding Yule's transformation is actually the power of example, or more accurately, the power of playmates. All along, Xie Yijun, Ding Yule, Fan Mawen, Ye Yuliang, the four people always like to play and play after class, xie Yijun is one of the leaders. Since Xie Yijun began to work hard, he also began to work hard together, in the past in the class always saw the two of them playing together, now more see them get together between classes to discuss the topic, Ding Yule also in the mid-term and final testing achieved 156 and 121 results, from the high level of the job to the general high level, also made great progress, as the representative of the progress award on the stage to receive the award.

The former four "diehards", Xie Yijun improved by 110 this semester, Ding Yule improved by 80, and Fan Mawen also improved by 46 under the leadership of the first two people, and it is precisely adhering to the educational concept of "progress is an excellent" that these three students have made continuous progress. In the future teaching process, I will always use the stories of these three students to continue to inspire other classmates and motivate their future students. Today is a little harder than yesterday, tomorrow is a little better than today, it is this continuous progress and affirmation from others, has become a steady stream of internal driving force on their way to progress.
