CES2022, the world's three major consumer electronics exhibitions, new products quick look

CES (International Consumer Electronics Show), organized by the American Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association, was founded in 1967, has a history of 47 years, every January in the world's famous casino - Las Vegas held, is the world's largest and most influential consumer electronics exhibition, but also the world's largest consumer technology industry event.

The exhibition is highly professional, the trade effect is good, and it enjoys a fairly high reputation in the world. Over the years, CES exhibitions have gathered the best traditional consumer electronics manufacturers and IT core manufacturers, who have brought the most advanced technical concepts and products, attracting many high-tech equipment enthusiasts, users and industry visitors.

As a global technology event, cess shows in the United States, together with Computex in Taipei and consumer electronics shows (IFA) in Berlin, Germany, are known as the world's three major consumer electronics shows. In this CES2022 exhibition, there are a number of brands with a variety of new products unveiled, including the familiar Anchor, Weigang, Satechi and Scosche, Plugable, Cougar, etc., the new product categories cover fast charging, storage, expansion and other categories, let's take a look at the details below.

Wall-through charging technology is about to be commercialized Ossia/Energous several new products are on sale this year

After years of commitment, publicity and development, the technology to charge devices from across the room or through walls is on the market. Both Ossia and Energous are proponents of this nascent technology, showcasing several new products at CES 2022 that allow security cameras, smart doorbells, hearing aids and similar products to charge continuously while eliminating cables or charging pads.

Ossia CEO Doug Stovall said the company's developed wireless charging technology Cota will begin to appear on the products of French electronics maker Archos later this year. Products featuring Cota, which will include a fully wireless security camera, an air monitoring sensor and a pet tracker, will enter stores this year. Archos hasn't revealed the price yet.

Stovall hinted that another ossia partner is working to commercialize its Cota power desk, which uses Ossia's technology to transfer electricity from the ceiling to a traditional phone charging pad. Such tables can be used in commercial places such as cafes, allowing customers to charge without plugging in.

Energous showcased a range of devices that use its WattUp charging technology, which also transmits electrical energy throughout the room. These products include EarTechnic hearing aids, Gokhale PostureTracker medical monitors, and Williot tracking tags. Energous did not disclose prices and availability.

The introduction of products using Ossia and Energous technologies highlights the maturity of charging systems that do not require a physical connection to the power supply. Longer-range wireless charging technologies, such as Cotta and WattUp, send a beam of radio energy to devices that require the right amount of power and are within a few feet of the transmitter. Although it's not powerful enough to charge laptops or TVs, the technology has the potential to make it easier to charge the growing number of low-power smart home and IoT devices in homes, offices, stores, and factories.

According to Anker, the 736 is the world's smallest 100-watt GaN wall charger with no compromise on charging power, and it uses PowerIQ 3.0 technology to optimize charging. Gallium Nitride II technology operates twice as frequently as traditional Gallium Nitride technology, while also employing the latest stacking designs and upgraded boards for maximum efficiency. The Anker 736 is priced at $79 and will go on sale in March.

Anker's second product, released at CES, is the Anker 535 portable power bank, also known as the PowerHouse 512Wh. As the name suggests, it's a fairly large portable power station with multiple ports that can power a variety of devices while camping, during blackouts, and in other cases, you'll need to power a large number of devices when you leave the grid.

Vigan CES 2022: PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD new product capacity 8TB speed up to 14GB/s

ADATA has disclosed more parameters for the upcoming PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD. Thanks to the doubling of the theoretical bandwidth of the PCIe 5.0 interface (14 GB/s), two prototypes, code-named Project Nighthawk and Project Blackbird, are expected to deliver twice the performance of the existing PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD and take the capacity to a higher level (up to 8TB).

Early information indicates that both PCIe 5.0 M.2 prototype SSDs support the NVMe 2.0 protocol and are likely to use PCIe 5.0 mastering schemes from Grouplink.

In terms of performance, in addition to the flagship model with sequential reads and writes of 14 GB/s, Weigang is said to be developing PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSDs of 12 GB/s and 10 GB/s.

Previously, Qunlian revealed during the MSI October live broadcast event that the temperature and energy consumption of PCIe 5.0 SSDs will be higher. And up to 8TB of single-drive capacity should be more than enough for most use cases (although HDDs have been targeted at 20TB).

A few months ago, Kioxia had already shown off the company's first PCIe 5.0 prototype SSD. It can be seen that the reading speed is as high as 14000 MB/s, and the IO performance is also double that of PCIe 4.0 SSD.

For Samsung, which has a whole industry chain, a third-party high-end PCIe 5.0 SSD based on group master control will become its biggest competitor.

At the same time, Marvell has also announced support for the Bravera SC5 PCIe 5.0 master of the NVMe 1.4b standard.

There's also Silicon Motion's PCIe 5.0 SSD master solution, which will arrive by the end of 2022.
