Ecar News recently learned from relevant channels that Nissan Motor will exhibit three special edition models at the 2022 Chicago Auto Show, which are based on Frontier.
The three prototypes are all based on the 2022 Frontier Crew Cab platform and are aimed at three different user groups, and the designers say they want to show customers how they can transform their new Frontiers according to their individual needs and usage patterns.
The Project 72X Frontier pays homage to the Datsun 720, one of Nissan's most successful models of the past, and Nissan says it wants to stick with simple, affordable trucks designed for entertainment and outdoor activities, and the key element of this overall impression is a set of white steel wheels, which are actually 2022 Frontier spare tires wrapped around PRO-4X tires.
Drawing inspiration from Nissan's rich history with pickups, Project Hardbody is reminiscent of the D21 Hardbody, a prototype with a three-inch lift kit with adjustable upper control arms that accentuate retro through fenders, vintage wheels, and red.
Project Adventure features a Yakima bed frame system, roof baskets, and roof tents. For those lonely nights in the wild, Nissan also added Kicker's bed sound system with Bluetooth connectivity. Custom patterns with maps of the United States became one of the highlights.
