Hong Kong, February 8 (Reporter Suo Youwei) Hong Kong Sotheby's exhibited the works of Monet, Picasso and many other world-class art giants on the 8th, of which the last auction of Monet's "Water Lilies" dates back to 1978.

Created between 1914 and 1917, Monet's groundbreaking collection celebrates Monet's highest achievement, based on the theme of water lilies in Giverny's Garden. Appearing at Sotheby's Hong Kong, Water Lilies is expressive and later, and the sheer dimensions perfectly encapsulate the artist's vision. The painting was last auctioned back in 1978; it has not been exhibited in public since 1995, when it toured three major museums in Japan. The auction was commissioned by a private collection in Japan and is estimated at £15 million to £20 million.

The woman in Picasso's life can be described as the fulcrum of his creative talent. Created on December 31, 1938, The Bust of a Woman with a Cheek presents his changing relationship with Marie-Thérèse Walter, who was ostensibly loyal to the former but in essence increasingly empathetic to his new lover, Dora Maar. Picasso deliberately mixed the characteristics of two women to create a picture that broadly celebrates love and imagination. The painting is estimated at £10 million to £15 million.

Also on display was Van Gogh's pastoral pastoral of Provence – A Couple of Lovers, which depicts a pair of intimate lovers strolling along the river, with bright colors. The auction is valued at £7 million to £10 million.

In addition, 5 representative works from Monet's exciting journey from Impressionism to Abstraction, 1 masterpiece of modern art by René Magritte, and 3 banksy classics from the collection of legendary musician Robbie Williams are all concentrated in Hong Kong.

Sotheby's Asia Chairman, Wong Lam Shi Yun, said: "We are very excited that Hong Kong has once again taken the lead in unveiling the important works of two Western masters. Time has proven that Asian buyers have been instrumental in the development of Picasso and Monet's market, and we are confident that these works will arouse a strong response from Asian collectors and art lovers. ”

It is reported that all the above works will be exhibited in Hong Kong until the 9th, displayed in Taipei from February 12 to 13, previewed at auction in London from February 22, and auctioned at the London Sotheby's Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale on March 2. (End)
