After 13 years, Hyundai Motor has returned to the Japanese passenger car market

Hyundai motor said in a briefing in Tokyo on Monday that the company will start selling the Ioniq 5 electric vehicle and fuel cell vehicle Nexo in Japan this year, according to foreign media sources.

Shigeaki Kato, general manager of Hyundai Motor Japan, said at the press conference that it plans to accept online orders from May. It is worth mentioning that this will be Hyundai Motor's second entry into the Japanese passenger car market after 13 years.

According to the data, Hyundai Motor entered the Japanese market in 2001, but due to unsatisfactory performance, it stopped most of its business in 2009 and only retained the commercial vehicle business such as buses.
