Over the years, my path to winning the championship

Zhang Xufei was born in 1984, and when she was five years old, a car accident caused her to lose her left leg below the knee joint. This sudden car accident completely changed her fate, you know, her dream as a child was to become a dancer.

This year, she had never been exposed to volleyball before, and joined the Shanghai Disabled Sports Training Center as a member of the Shanghai Disabled Women's Seated Volleyball Team, and in 2003, she was selected for the Chinese Women's Seated Volleyball Team as a deputy attacker.

In training, she needs to put in more effort than others. Whether on the cold and bone-chilling field or on the damp and dirty grass, she insists on eight hours of training every day. The movement of the seated volleyball is all supported by her hands, and after more than ten years, the calluses on her hands have been hard, and I don't know how many sweatpants and sneakers have been worn. When training, volleyball does not have long eyes at all, and the players have to glide as fast as possible to grab the ball, so her body is often blue and purple.

At the 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil, the Chinese women's seated volleyball team won the silver medal, and Zhang Xufei was the 6th right in the front row

Effort pays off. At the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games, the girls of the Chinese women's seated volleyball team bloomed brightly, and the Dutch team, where the seated volleyball originated, won the gold medal with a 3:1 victory. This is the only collective gold medal won by the Chinese delegation, and it is also the first Paralympic gold medal in the project. At that time, Zhang Xufei was not yet the main player, but from then on, she secretly swore: I will fight the main force!

Next, Zhang Xufei's training was also more diligent and diligent, often training himself on holidays. In 2006, Zhang Xufei stood at the World Championships in the Netherlands as the main player, and her excellent performance impressed the coach and teammates, and since that day, she has never come down from the main position.

In 2008, in Beijing, Zhang Xufei's Chinese women's seated volleyball team successfully defended her title at the 29th Paralympic Games, which was the first time she won a gold medal in the Olympic Arena as a main player.
