According to foreign media reports, the highest car safety regulator in the United States issued an announcement that Tesla is launching the largest recall in history in the United States, with a number of 817,000 vehicles, covering four models sold by Tesla. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tesla recalled the vehicles because the seatbelt tone may not ring when the vehicles are started and the driver is not fastening their seatbelts. Tesla will fix this problem in the form of an OTA, and since the U.S. Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) considers the lack of seatbelt tones to be a safety risk, Tesla cannot solve this problem with software updates alone, it must be included in an official safety recall. However, if the OTA can't solve the problem, it means that the owner may need to drive to Tesla after-sales to deal with it.

In the past two months alone, Tex has initiated multiple recalls. At the end of 2021, the U.S. Road Safety Administration said Tesla recalled more than 475,000 Model 3 and Model S electric vehicles in the United States to address issues such as rearview cameras and trunks that increase the risk of collision. Specifically, the recall will cover approximately 356,000 Model 3s from the 2017-2020 model and approximately 119,000 Model Ss from the 2014-2021 models. Subsequently, the State Administration for Market Regulation announced that Tesla decided to recall some imported Model Ss with production dates from January 21, 2015 to November 18, 2020, for a total of 19,697 units. and some imported Model 3s with production dates from October 4, 2018 to November 20, 2019, for a total of 35,836 units. as well as some domestically produced Model 3s with production dates from October 14, 2019 to December 27, 2020, totaling 144208 units.

It is understood that for the Tesla Model 3, the reason for the recall is that the rearview camera cable harness may be damaged due to the opening and closing of the trunk lid, thus preventing the rearview camera image display. For the Tesla Model S, the reason for the recall is that a latch issue with the front hood could cause the trunk to open without warning and hinder the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of crash. NHTSA said Tesla was not aware of any collisions, injuries or deaths related to problems with its Model 3 and Model S cars. Judging from the problem of the recall, it is basically the same as the problem that has arisen in the US market.

On Tuesday, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that Tesla would recall 53,822 electric vehicles, also involving four of its models on sale. The recall documents state that the recalled Teslas all have a "rolling parking" feature that allows vehicles to pass at speeds of up to 5.6 mph at speeds of up to 5.6 mph through intersections that require parking in all four directions, in violation of U.S. road traffic regulations, as long as the driver sets the vehicle to "fully autonomous" mode. NHTSA noted that the vehicle did not stop completely and that the risk of collision could increase when passing through the intersection. NHTSA said Tesla will perform an over-the-air software update, disabling the "roll stop" feature. It is understood that the recall covers the Model S and Model X from 2016 to 2022, as well as the Model 3 from 2017 to 2022 and the Model Y from 2020 to 2022. Recently, Tesla has frequently launched recalls in the US market, whether it will further lead to the impact of the Chinese market, still need to wait for the relevant departments to disclose information.

Product issues don't seem to affect Tesla's market performance. According to the financial report, Tesla achieved total revenue of $53.823 billion (about 340.193 billion yuan) in fiscal 2021, an increase of 71% year-on-year, of which the total revenue in the fourth quarter of 2021 was 17.719 billion US dollars (about 111.995 billion yuan), an increase of 65% year-on-year; the net profit in fiscal 2021 was 5.519 billion US dollars (about 34.88 billion yuan), an increase of 665% year-on-year. Among them, the net profit in the fourth quarter of 2021 was US$2.321 billion (about 14.670 billion yuan), an increase of 760% year-on-year. In other words, this is tesla's second year of profitability, and it is also the most profitable year since Tesla's establishment. In terms of sales, Tesla delivered 936,000 new cars worldwide in 2021, an increase of 87% year-on-year, becoming the brand with the highest sales of electric vehicles in the world.

However, as an American automaker, Tesla does not seem to be favored by US President Biden. It is understood that since Biden took office, it has repeatedly increased its new energy vehicle policy, believing that electric vehicles are crucial to the US economic and climate goals, but it is silent about Tesla's position in the electric vehicle market. On Thursday, Biden released a video of a conversation with Mary Bara, GM's chairman and CEO, and said "he's glad to hear Bara's statement and says companies like GM and Ford are making more electric cars in the U.S. than ever before."

The move drew displeasure from Musk, who commented under the tweet, mocking the White House for deliberately ignoring Tesla's leadership in the electric car industry. Tesla fans then bought an advertising slot in New York's Times Square, which typed out the "anagram" that Musk had given to US President Biden in a recent tweet: "Start with T, end with A, and ESL in the middle." ”
