Huawei and the Russian Radio Science Research Institute test 5G+ equipment in Moscow

According to the Russian Satellite News Agency reported on February 2, Huawei and the Russian Radio Science Research Institute are testing 5G network equipment in Moscow. According to the Radio Research Institute, if the test is successful, the 5G+ technology developed by Chinese manufacturers will solve the problem of 5G frequency shortage in Russia.

In addition to Huawei, other global manufacturers have reportedly shown interest in the development of Mobile Networks in Russia. Nokia has signed an agreement with Russian partner computer technology maker Yadro to establish a joint venture in Russia to produce 4G and 5G base stations. Ericsson is also conducting a technical audit of the Russian electronics manufacturer GS Group's plant in Kaliningrad to identify possible localization of base station production. Ericsson is also considering an alternative to opening its own factory in Russia.
