The first batch of recall announcements this year was issued a few days ago, and the reporter noticed from the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation that the four models involving Dongfeng Fengshen, Changan Mazda, Mercedes-Benz and FAW Besturn were recalled in total, with a total of 7546 recalls.

Dongfeng Fengshen's new Mach version of AX7: recall 1257 vehicles

According to Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd., the passenger car company filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation. Effective January 14, 2022, the Company will recall some of Dongfeng Fengshen's new Mach 7 versions of the vehicles produced between August 16, 2021 and October 10, 2021, for a total of 1,257 vehicles.

Reason for recall: The vehicle within the scope of this recall is defined according to the vehicle design, and under specific working conditions, the vehicle should have the function of automatic return to P gear, that is, when the speed is 0, non-P gear, when the driver unfastens the seat belt and opens the main driving door, the TCU (automatic transmission control unit) will control the transmission to jump back to P gear, and the electronic shifter should automatically jump back to P gear with the TCU to make the vehicle enter the state of P gear parking. Now due to the electronic shifter software strategy problem, in extreme cases, the electronic shifter does not follow the TCU to automatically jump back to the P gear, causing the vehicle to continue to drive automatically according to the original gear; if the driver is out of the car and closes the door from the outside of the car, it will cause the dangerous situation that there is no one in the car and the vehicle automatically drives in the off-control state, and there is a safety hazard.

Solution: Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Company will inspect and upgrade the electronic shifter software for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.

Mercedes-Benz imported GLE: recalled 639 vehicles

According to the recall plan filed by Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. with the State Administration for Market Regulation. Effective February 11, 2022, the recall will be made of a total of 639 GLE SUV vehicles with production dates from February 17, 2020 to December 19, 2020.

Reason for recall: The fixing clip of the vehicle fuel tank pressure sensor within the scope of this recall does not meet the requirements for corrosion resistance. After the long-term use of the vehicle, the fixing clip may weaken the fixing force due to corrosion, resulting in the fuel tank pressure sensor may be loosened due to vibration during the driving process of the vehicle, and in extreme cases, the sealing of the fuel tank may be affected, which in turn will not meet the requirements of the relevant laws and regulations on the sealing of the motor vehicle fuel system, and there are safety hazards and unreasonable emission risks.

Solution: Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. will replace the fuel tank pressure sensor fixing clip free of charge for vehicles within the scope of the recall to eliminate safety hazards and unreasonable emission risks.

Changan Mazda CX-8: Recalls 370 vehicles

According to Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd., the recall plan was filed with the State Administration for Market Regulation. With effect from now on, the company will recall a total of 370 mazda CX-8 vehicles manufactured from July 8, 2020 to June 2, 2021.

Reason for recall: The riveting process of the internal connecting rod of the middle seat rail mechanism of the vehicle within the scope of this recall is inappropriate, and the seat may move forward due to the inability to lock the seat rail during the vehicle, which will increase the risk of injury to the middle row passengers in extreme cases, and there is a safety hazard.

Solution: Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the improved mid-row seat rail connection rod kit for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge through authorized dealers to eliminate safety hazards.

FAW Besturn B30 EV400: 5280 vehicles recalled

China FAW Group Co., Ltd. entrusted FAW Besturn Car Co., Ltd. to file a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation. Decided to recall 5,280 2019 Besturn B30 EV400 vehicles produced between December 13, 2019 and March 19, 2020, effective June 27, 2022.

Reason for recall: The electronic vacuum pump of the vehicle within the scope of this recall has a manufacturing defect that may cause damage to its internal blades and cause stalls, resulting in no vacuum replenishment of the brake assist system. Vehicles may lose brake power during normal driving, and in extreme cases, there is a risk of accidents in the vehicle, and there are potential safety hazards.

Solution: FAW Besturn Car Co., Ltd. will replace the electronic vacuum pump for vehicles covered by the recall to eliminate safety hazards.
