NIO officially announced that the first batch of ET5 production line verification prototypes have been officially rolled off the production line at NIO's Hefei plant. This is an important part of the Validation Build stage before the mass production of THE NIO ET5, which marks a step closer to mass production.
In the production process of this batch of prototypes, engineers need to identify potential problems in the production process and continuously optimize and improve them to make manufacturing more efficient, as well as check whether the parts and manufacturing processes meet the established standards of the model. In the stage of engineering verification and vehicle construction, it is necessary to complete the three tasks of production process optimization, vehicle functional integrity verification, vehicle attribute and performance verification, and establish a solid foundation for mass production of ET5.
Previously, the body of the first production line of WEILAI ET5 has also been rolled off the production line, completing the process verification car building (Confirmation Build) stage. The main work at this stage is to verify the rationality of the processing and assembly process, train the production line operators, and "warm up" for mass production.
At NIO Day 2021, Li Bin announced that WEIO ET5 has opened pre-orders and plans to deliver in September this year. The model is positioned as a medium-sized pure electric sedan, integrating the most advanced intelligent and electronic and electrical technology of NIO, the whole series adopts a dual-motor four-drive force system, the comprehensive maximum output power is 360kW, the comprehensive peak torque reaches 700N·m, and it can be equipped with a 75kWh standard battery pack, a 100kWh long-endurance battery pack and a 150kWh ultra-long battery pack. In terms of price, at present, WEILAI ET5 only has two versions of standard battery packs and long-endurance battery packs on sale, and the price of the vehicle before subsidies is 328,000 and 386,000 yuan respectively.
