Building a car is not an easy task, and today, car companies with the mentality of the former have long been abandoned by the times.
45 million yuan of equity was frozen
On January 21, Ranger Auto's chairman Wei Jun was frozen by the court for 45 million yuan of options, which was long forgotten by the public, and Ranger Auto was brought back to the public eye.
Ranger Cars was one of the first new car-making forces on the mainland, however, to be founded in 2014. However, Weilai Automobile, Ideal Car, etc., which started at the same time as Ranger Motors or started a little later, have already made a name for themselves and become one of the top two new energy vehicle brands in China.
However, Ranger Cars has been reduced to the dilemma of suspension of work and production, project failure, arrears of the company and so on.
What has happened to Ranger Cars in recent years?
More flickering than Jia Yueting
Jia Yueting, who was once known as the "dream master", is a master of flickering, and the flickering ability of Wei Jun, chairman of Ranger Motors, is not lost to Jia Yueting.
The founder of Ranger Cars is Huang Xiuyuan. However, in 2015, after the company's crisis, Wei Jun brought capital into the market and became the new head of Ranger Motors, holding 90% of the company's shares.
In the Ranger car, Wei Jun showed considerable ambition. At that time, Wei Jun shouted the slogan of "being the first in the field of electric vehicles in China" and "can't take down the city, and can't turn back".
Moreover, Wei Jun also praised Ranger Cars as "China's Tesla" and also declared that "this electric car startup may make Musk sad in the future."
Wei Jun's bold words and ambitions successfully attracted a large amount of financing for the company. By 2019, Ranger Motors had won three rounds of financing totaling 8.7 billion yuan, and the company's valuation once reached 12.2 billion yuan, which was higher than the valuation of Weilai and Xiaopeng.
According to the plan, Ranger Motors will launch a production model in 2019, when the company's annual production capacity is 200,000 units.
The originator of PPT car manufacturing
However, the Ranger car still failed to survive to the day of mass production. Today, Jia Yueting's mass production car is still on the road, and Wei Jun has completely lost his chance.
In fact, Ranger Cars has already unveiled its first model, the Ranger X, as early as July 2015. However, once this car was announced, it caused huge doubts, and it is not difficult to see from the Ranger X that the Ranger Car did not have the heart to build a car at all.
The Ranger X is very similar to the Tesla Model S concept car in appearance, which inevitably makes people in the industry suspect that the Ranger X is modified from the Tesla Model X.
And ranger X didn't even launch the demo, only released some data. This has further deepened the doubts of the industry. In this way, Ranger Cars is definitely the "originator of PPT car manufacturing".
In fact, from that time, it can be seen that Ranger Cars does not have the meaning of serious car building at all, and it is likely to just borrow the heat of new energy vehicles to collect money. Unfortunately, under Wei Jun's flickering, many investors still fell into the trap.
Ranger appears archetypal
In 2019, ranger cars' production cars were not expected. At the same time, the company also reported the news of factory shutdown and project failure.
However, at that time, the Ranger car was still strong, indicating that the company was no longer in a hurry to mass-produce models, but had other plans. But this time, people still did not wait for the mass production car, but waited for the news of the company's collapse.
The Ranger car that has been "PPT-built" has also been unveiled.
A Ranger Auto employee revealed in an interview that the company has always been doing PPT, changing the product design of others and taking it to the financing circle.
Although Ranger Motors refuted this remark, the company still could not come up with a mass production car in 7 years of car manufacturing, so that the public's mind actually has the answer.
Nowadays, the Ranger car has completely lost the opportunity to turn over, and has long been forgotten by the public. The originator of a generation of PPT cars has fallen.
