QNAP: Some NAS users have been attacked by ransomware and need to upgrade their QTS systems immediately

IT Home January 27 news, today, QNAP officially issued a statement that QNAP Global Security Center found that there is currently a wave of attacks against QNAP NAS, the gang of criminals using DeadBolt's ransomware, by using a disguised NAS login page to deceive the administrator password, and then encrypt the file for ransom, each file will be encrypted into a deadb suffix.

QNAP said that users need to upgrade to QTS 5.0.0.1891 or above immediately.

Officials said that users need to upgrade the QTS system immediately, and the version number meets at least the following requirements:

QTS 5.0.0.1891 build 20211221 and updated

QTS 4.5.4.1892 build 20211223 and updated

QuTS hero h5.0.0.1892 build 20211222 and updated

QuTScloud c5.0.0.1919 build 20220119 and updated

For users with important data, the official recommendation is to create a snapshot of your important data storage disk, ransomware virus through the underlying direct encryption of the file, but the snapshot itself is the encrypted file is difficult to be breached. Even if you are successful, there is a good chance that you can use the snapshot function to restore.
