The round was led by JIC Venture Growth Investments (VGI), a venture capital arm of the Japan Investment Corporation (JIC), with the participation of chemical manufacturers Zeon Corporation, Fujitsu Ventures Fund LLC, and HPC Systems, which provides high-performance computer integration solutions. QunaSys corporation announced that it has reached cooperation with Ruion Corporation, Japanese ict company Fujitsu and HPC Systems on both capital and business.

QunaSys founded the QPARC Industry Alliance in July 2020, which is dedicated to learning the basics and advanced technologies of quantum computers and exploring their application potential. More than 50 companies participated in the alliance to explore different quantum computing application cases, such as new energy analysis, molecular structure optimization, sustainable material development, etc.

In addition, the aforementioned companies launched Qamuy, a quantum chemical computing software, in October 2021. As a cloud platform for quantum computing development, Qamuy has performed more than 3.3 million computing jobs. Recently, Fujitsu has announced plans to run Qamuy on its latest simulated quantum computer with 36 qubits to perform various quantum chemical calculations at high speed.

"QunaSys has been around for four years," said Tennin Yan, CEO of the company, "and we have been working on developing practical applications for quantum computers. The funding will help develop more useful quantum computational chemistry software and expand the company's existing operations overseas to establish a base in Europe. ”

QunaSys is working with Europe to promote the development of quantum computing, including working with the Pistoia Alliance to develop quantum computing applications in the pharmaceutical field, as well as joining the European Quantum Flagship program to provide quantum computing expertise training for workers in the field of chemistry.
