Clash of Kings: After being attacked by ransomware, NVIDIA hacked the hackers

Unexpectedly, semiconductor giant NVIDIA has also become a target of hacking, and recently, according to a number of British and American media reports, NVIDIA suffered a network attack, which even led to the interruption of email and developer tools. Later, NVIDIA responded, saying that the business was not disrupted and that it was still assessing the impact of the incident.

Now, vx-underground, a website that specializes in collecting malware samples, says a South American organization called LAPSU$ has carried out the ransomware attack on Nvidia.

VX-underground said the LAPSU$ Ransomware Group, an organization doing business in South America, claimed to have hacked into Nvidia and stole more than 1TB of proprietary data.

Rather embarrassingly, though, NVIDIA has also cracked back against the hacking group, which claims Nvidia also hacked it and says NVIDIA has successfully recovered their machine.

According to screenshots provided by vx-underground, the hackers woke up to find that their own machine had been hacked, but they had already backed up the data.

According to Videocardz, Nvidia tried to hack the group by encrypting stolen data, but the group has made copies in a virtual machine environment, meaning Nvidia's counterattack was unsuccessful.
