Recently, more than 200 new energy buses have been put into the Beijing Yanqing And Zhangjiakou Chongli Division. The energy consumption of these new energy buses is 20% lower than that of existing similar models, and can operate normally in ultra-wide ambient temperatures from minus 40 °C to 60 °C.

In the past, in the extremely cold environment below minus 20 degrees celsius in winter, conventional pure electric vehicles using lithium batteries faced worldwide technical problems in which power batteries could not be charged and discharged, vehicles could not be started at low temperatures, and high energy consumption for heating in winter. In order to achieve full coverage of new energy vehicles in relevant regions during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, since 2016, the scientific research team of Beijing Institute of Technology has undertaken the key special task of "Green Winter Olympics" new energy vehicles.

Only when the battery is frozen, the test data is convincing. To this end, the scientific research team spent 4 years and went to Yakeshi Ice Lake, Hailar and other places in Inner Mongolia to conduct extreme cold tests of key technologies of new energy vehicles in the harsh winter environment. Test data show that vehicles equipped with a full-climate new technology system can achieve rapid self-heating start-up in 6 minutes, the temperature rise rate exceeds 5 °C/minute, and the battery heating energy consumption in the low-temperature start-up link is not higher than 5%.

According to the research team of Beijing Institute of Technology, the core part of the new energy vehicle is the three-electric system composed of motor, battery and electronic control, and the motor is like a muscle for the vehicle to exert its strength.
