When toyota's largest SUV is mentioned, it is not the flagship model Land Cruiser, but a full-size large SUV sequoia built for the North American market.
Recently, Toyota officially released a new generation of Sequoia, the new car is available in SR5, Limited, Platinum, Capstone and TRD Pro versions, and will be released overseas in the summer of 2022.

Toyota Sequoia, as a variant of the Tantu pickup truck, was first unveiled in 2000, and in addition to retaining the off-road capabilities of the pickup truck, it has also been improved on the luxury level. The second-generation model was launched in 2007, and as can be seen from the 15-year product life cycle, Toyota Sequoia is favored by North American consumers.
Domestic fans also have a certain understanding of Sequoia, because Toyota officially introduced it in 2010, its 5.7L V8 matched 6AT gearbox, the maximum power reached 386ps, the price of that year was as high as 1.1 million yuan, and later there were parallel import versions to choose from.
The new generation of Toyota Sequoia is also based on the TNGA-F platform with the new Tantu sharing architecture previously released, which has the advantages of low center of gravity, high rigidity and lightweight. The new Land cruiser and prado are also based on this platform.
The design style of the front grille and headlights of the new Sequoia is basically the same as that of the new Tantu, but the front bracket style is more powerful, and three different styles of mid-mesh design will be provided according to different model configurations: chrome honeycomb, black wave and banner shape.
The side of the body adopts a hidden A, B and C pillar design to create a floating roof style, and the powerful waist line makes the huge body of the sequoia dynamic. The 20-inch rim is fixed with six bolt holes, which can be seen to have a certain off-road base.
The rear D-pillar merges with the rear windshield, weakening the presence of the D-pillar to make the sequoia look less bulky.
In terms of body size, with reference to the current Sequoia Sport Edition, its length, width and height are 5210/2030/1955mm, the wheelbase has reached 3.1 meters, and the parameters have fully exceeded the Land Cruiser.
The interior of the new Sequoia continues the new design, with a full LCD dashboard and a 14-inch multimedia screen, while the center console still retains a large number of physical buttons.
In terms of space layout, the new Sequoia will still provide a 7-seat layout, based on such a huge body size, I believe that the third row of seating space of the new car is already comparable to MPV.
In terms of configuration, it is worth mentioning that the TRD kit can be optionally installed in all three versions of the new car.
Off-road kits include: specially adjusted spring Bilstein shock absorbers, rear axle limited slip differential, 18-inch off-road wheels, creep control system.
The sports kit includes: TRD sport kit, 20-inch wheels, strong damping shock absorbers, aluminum sports pedals.
In terms of power, the new Sequoia will be equipped with an i-Force Max hybrid system, consisting of a 3.4T V6 plus an electric motor, with a combined power of 444Ps and a maximum torque of 790 Nm, and the drivetrain will match the 10AT gearbox, while providing a rear-drive and a four-wheel drive system with a variety of driving modes to choose from.
Referring to the Lexus LX600 with the same powertrain, the combined fuel consumption is 10.6L/100km, which is better in power and fuel consumption than the old Sequoia 5.7L V8 engine.
Full-size SUVs have always been popular in the North American market, and American brands rooted in the country have naturally launched many corresponding models. Toyota Sequoia, as an outsider, has a place with a reputation for reliability and durability.
