Born in Yixing, Taodu in 1968, Pan Xiaozhong first studied carpentry craftsmanship, and he knew the importance of basic skills and fineness for a traditional handicraft, and also made an important preparation for his future career change.
In the 1980s, when Yixing Purple Sand Craft Factory II recruited trainees, Pan Xiaozhong was lucky enough to catch up with the good times and became one of the apprentices in the factory. At that time, it was the booming period of the development of purple sand art, the market demand for purple sand handicrafts was strong, and the continuous influx of fresh blood sculpted a good learning and art atmosphere of the second purple sand factory.

Perhaps it is the commonality of traditional handicrafts, from carpenter to potter, Pan Xiaozhong is familiar with the road and soon got started. He had the honor of learning the skills with the national master Xu Hantang, laying a solid foundation in pot making, and Master Xu taught without reservation, making rapid progress.
Among all the utensils, Pan Xiaozhong is particularly good at square utensils, and he integrates carpentry experience in pot making, paying special attention to the rhythm of lines, giving people artistic beauty, grasping the essence of tradition, and achieving both gods and shapes.

During this period, he and Feng Qinfang, who worked together, exchanged feelings and married, and the two learned from each other's strengths and complemented each other's strengths, working together hand in hand, polishing each work with ingenuity.
As the granddaughter of Mr. Feng Guilin, a famous pot maker in the Republic of China, Feng Qinfang studied Mr. Guilin's creative handwriting together with Pan Xiaozhong. Pan Xiaozhong deeply understood his purple sand creation method, and his production skills improved by leaps and bounds, becoming an excellent heir to Guilin pot art.

As a tireless and enterprising person, he was invited to participate in the Tsinghua University Ceramic Art Master Advanced Seminar in 2012, and became the winner of the first "Jingzhou Cup" bronze award in 2015, and gradually became a multi-functional artist of flowers, squares and primitives that has attracted much attention in the industry.

His square instrument masterpiece "Square Spring" is shaped by six squares, and the arc changes greatly, and the difficulty of forming is extremely high. In 1996, the classic work "Three Friends of Bamboo Sections" made in The Purple Sand Factory, with the theme of "Pine, Bamboo and Plum", uses extremely ecological elements to interpret the charm of elegant wind and natural harmony. Ingenious styling design, meticulous carving of details, perfect echo of the pine of the cover, the bamboo of the stream, and the plum of the flow, and the hidden wind bone in the introverted, so that collectors can't let go.
