From skill to memory, from inheritance to development, the "Jiangnan Handmade Conference" under the guidance of Songjiang District Culture and Tourism Bureau, sponsored by Shanghai Zhigen Culture media Co., Ltd., and hosted by Morning News Magazine Co., Ltd. was held from January 25 to February 20 at Shanghai Yunjian Hall Art Center, a new landmark of Songjiang Humanities.
In the form of "handmade art", the Jiangnan Handmade Conference takes the inheritance of the handmade skills of the former Jiangnan Eight Provinces as the starting point, showing the historical inheritance and presenting the aesthetics of the times. The Jiangnan Handmade Conference carefully selected fourteen handmade works such as Gu embroidery, Songjiang cloth, Yunjin, jade carving, seal carving, silk, clay people, Su fan, lake pen, bamboo paper, lantern color, velvet flower, mud call, filigree enamel painting from hundreds of handmade skills in the Eight Provinces of Jiangnan to display, and invited famous artists of the Hai school to hold calligraphy and painting exhibitions and porcelain art exhibitions.
Led by highly respected craftsmen and artists, the exhibition brings together nearly 100 national masters and Jiangnan art masters, and exhibits more than 200 works. The conference has five major sections: "Fuhu Welcoming Spring - Jiangnan Famous Artists Art Invitation Exhibition", "Sea Fresh Wind - Shanghai Art Famous Artists Porcelain Art Invitation Exhibition", "Jiangnan Eight Provinces Intangible Cultural Heritage Invitation Exhibition", "The Gate of The Great Master - Yangtze River Delta Handmade and Art Invitation Exhibition", and "Handwork + Art - Spring Festival Market".

The Eight Provinces of Jiangnan and the eight provinces of Zhejiang were Yingtianfu (Nanjing), Suzhou Prefecture, Songjiang Prefecture (present-day Shanghai), Changzhou Prefecture (present-day Changzhou and Wuxi), Zhenjiang Prefecture, and Hangzhou Prefecture, Jiaxing Prefecture, and Huzhou Prefecture of Zhejiang Province. Since ancient times, the Jiangnan region with the Eight Provinces of Jiangnan as the core has been rich in literature and art, rich in life, with a long cultural context, and the hand-made skills are even more half of the world. In history, its weaving and embroidery, study room, ceramics, lacquerware, furniture, jade carving, bamboo and wood ivory carving and other skills have been passed down from generation to generation.
Songjiang is the "root of Shanghai", and its handicraft skills have always been very developed. Zhu Kerou, Dao po, Han Ximeng and a large number of literati and craftsmen are the peaks of Songjiang's ancient handicrafts, which once led Jiangnan and influenced the whole country. There is no doubt that Matsue Handmade is an indispensable part of Jiangnan Handmade.
Through the display of Jiangnan handicrafts, from the reproduction and excavation of these Jiangnan skills, touch the memories of jiangnan ancestors for a better life. These handicrafts have come from ancient times to the present, and are constantly being copied and developed. Therefore, today's Jiangnan handmade works not only record the refinement of the skills of the daily life of Jiangnan people, but also integrate the international vision and the aesthetics of the times.
Jiangnan handicraft conference allows Jiangnan skills to return to the way of life of Jiangnan people through display, exchange, experience and study, so that the ingenious wisdom, emotional connection, life context and interpersonal relationships that run through the traditional skills of Jiangnan can be revived, and it is hoped that these Jiangnan memories will be transformed into the cultural context and aesthetic thinking of contemporary urban people, thereby enriching and expanding the temperature and expectations of urban civilization.
Whether it is the former Eight Provinces of Jiangnan or the three provinces and one city of the Yangtze River Delta today, Jiangnan has always been geographically close and close to each other. The G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor links the coordinated development of nine cities and rises from local practice to a national strategy, which is a successful development and innovation in the new era. Promote the inheritance and development of Jiangnan culture in the form of "Jiangnan Conference", further grounding, gathering popularity and setting benchmarks. In the future, through several conference projects, we will also link the "Eight Provinces of Jiangnan" to establish an effective intercity art exchange mechanism, jointly build a cultural brand in the yangtze river delta today, and jointly promote the development of cultural and artistic exchanges in jiangnan.
