Plateau training helps athletes improve their training level and training performance, as a national winter sports base jointly built by the State General Administration of Sports and the Sports Bureau of Hebei Province - Chongli Plateau (National Comprehensive) Training Base, shouldering the task of preparing for the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Become a "bridgehead" for the Winter Olympics

In February 2017, the State General Administration of Sport and the People's Government of Hebei Province signed the Framework Agreement on Cooperation in the Development of Ice and Snow Sports, which built the Chongli Plateau Training Base into a national comprehensive training base mainly for ice and snow sports in the mode of co-construction. The base is located in The Peace Forest Park, Chongli District, Zhangjiakou City, covering an area of about 98 hectares, with an altitude of 1800-2100 meters, an average annual temperature of 3.3 °C, a large amount of snowfall (more than 1 meter of snow), a long snow period (up to 150 days), a small wind, good snow quality, and moderate terrain. In September 2020, the State General Administration of Sport further clarified the functional positioning of the base - building it into a "bridgehead for the Beijing Winter Olympics, a plateau transfer training base for summer sports to prepare for the Olympic Games, and a coordinated development base for beijing-Tianjin-Hebei competitive sports".

In the past two years, chongli plateau (national comprehensive) training base has built a complete snow sports professional track such as slope obstacle course ski track, obstacle track chase slope, U-shaped field, snow skill field, and aerial skill field. In addition, the indoor U-shaped pool track with a total length of about 298 meters, a span of 42 meters and a total construction area of about 12,800 square meters is a full-size indoor U-shaped pool track that can achieve training and competition in all four seasons. The Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau has transformed the 4,100-square-meter ski hall and training hall into a competitive performance center, equipped with professional digital physical training equipment, physical fitness testing equipment, medical rehabilitation equipment, suitable for winter and summer project training, and providing a strong physical training guarantee for the national team to prepare for the Winter Olympics.

With complete snow project professional tracks and competitive performance centers, sub-plateau standard track and field fields and other perfect supporting facilities, Chongli Plateau (National Comprehensive) Training Base has become a national ice and snow training base integrating training, scientific research, medical treatment, education and service, providing comprehensive service guarantee for the four-season training of the ice and snow project national team. At present, a total of 32,000 national team members have been received to train here.

High-quality support and preparation for war

On December 26, 2021, the first batch of national team members preparing for the Beijing Winter Olympics successfully entered the Chongli Plateau (National Comprehensive) Training Base. In accordance with the overall deployment of the Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau on the management of the three major ice and snow project training bases in Hebei Province, in order to ensure the orderly advancement of the various service guarantee work of the base, the base has formulated relevant operating mechanisms to ensure that the national team has achieved "brilliant participation".

Strengthen organizational leadership and smooth command and operation systems. The base has set up a joint working group on the closed management of the Great Wall Ridge base composed of the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of the People's Republic of China, the Sports Bureau of Hebei Province, the epidemic prevention of the territory, and the Zhangjiakou Chongli Great Wall Aoxue Tourism Development and Management Co., Ltd., and has established a closed management daily meeting and daily reporting system to timely report the completion of the work and coordinate the solution of problems related to the closed management.

Strengthen the establishment of rules and regulations, and strengthen the support force for the Winter Olympics. Up to now, the joint working group has formulated 45 management systems, plans, processes, instructions, etc., involving 20 business areas such as epidemic prevention and control, emergency early warning, and anti-doping; special meetings are held regularly to adjust work ideas and measures in a timely manner.

Strengthen responsibility and improve the quality of service assurance. The base invited relevant experts to conduct more than 50 trainings in the fields of room service, security, anti-doping and other fields; optimized the infrastructure of the base, the overall environment was renewed, and the slogan of the preparation sign was posted to set off the atmosphere of preparation; the need for the national team training site was guaranteed, the snowmaking construction of all the tracks in the base was completed, and the supporting facilities such as cross-country skiing slots and snowmobiles were purchased.

Create an ice and snow tourism resort

In recent years, the construction of chongli plateau (national comprehensive) training base has brought relevant personnel flow, logistics and information flow to Chongli, gathered and driven the development of ice and snow scientific research, sports events, conferences and exhibitions, education and training, medical and health care, sports and leisure industries, so that local popularity and influence have risen rapidly, and the ice and snow industry has become a bright business card of Chongli. Taiwu Ski Town, Chongli District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, receives 1 million tourists a year.

Zhangjiakou set equipment research and development, design, manufacturing, testing as one of the ice and snow equipment industry base began to take shape, from the single industrial chain of skiing and ice and snow tourism, to the development of ice and snow equipment research and development and manufacturing, ice and snow culture tourism, ice and snow sports, ice and snow talent education and training and other ice and snow industry chain development.
