In response to EU environmental standards, the FIA plans to ban the use of fluoride-containing snow wax in all FIS competitions, but it will take some time to develop portable testing equipment.

"The FIA originally tried to test whether snow wax contained fluoride through the equipment they developed in Germany, but the accuracy of the test was not ideal. When it comes to athletes' performance, all of our decisions need to be made with great care and ensure that there is enough precision to provide a fair and impartial platform for the event.
