In Hunan in September, the autumn tiger still "does not go", and we ushered in the parting with the veterans. 2021 is the second time I have hosted the retirement ceremony and veteran farewell conference, and the fiery sun shines on the olive green of everyone, and illuminates the sincere heart of every veteran.
They who once crawled and hardened into steel in the military camp are now unloading their armor and embarking on a new journey of life. Looking back at those youth years, looking at the close comrades around them, their faces are full of nostalgia.
Whether it is at the duty station, armed patrol, or at the scene of flood prevention and rescue, they have always insisted on raising "loyalty" above their heads, regarding "honor" as more important than life, and carrying "mission" on their shoulders. Zhou Youliang, a veteran party member with 18 years of party experience, said emotionally at the retirement ceremony: "As long as the organization is called, we veterans will definitely stand up and take the lead; as long as the motherland needs, we are willing to put on military uniforms and go to the battlefield." ”
Time has smoothed out his former youth, so that the spirited teenager has become a veteran who is alone; it has also made the ignorant teenager the backbone of the torrent of the times. The bits and pieces of military life also record my experience and growth as a young party member.
In September 2013, I entered the university campus as a defense student, and joining the Chinese Communist Party became one of my goals. After submitting the application for joining the party, I was both expectant and nervous, so that I was always cautious in my words and deeds in the subsequent study, training and life, and strictly demanded myself. After more than a year of study and inspection, I finally became an honorable reserve party member on May 29, 2016. From that moment on, the party's banner was like the rising sun, adding a glory to the olive green on my body.
What is a Party Member? After I actually stepped into the barracks, I had a deeper understanding of the meaning of the two words party member and the weight of this identity. Whether it is the model party members around them or the touching examples, they all interpret the original intention of party members with "selfless hearts". And these, all the time, inspire me, so that I continue to grow and progress. The angular quilt, the countless sweats on the training ground... Every time I surpass myself, I walk firmly and steadily.
In June this year, I had the honor of participating in the party history knowledge contest, and through my studies, I was once again baptized ideologically. The older generation of party members braved difficulties, always maintained their original intentions, and sacrificed and paid everything for the construction and development of the party and the country. As my generation in the new era, we must also take up the baton, remember history, inherit the spirit, practice the original intention on the road of the new journey, and forge ahead. Today, I have grown from a young party member who first entered the barracks to a grassroots party branch secretary. In the face of the childish faces, I will also tell them the story of party members and the history of the Communist Party of China.
The military road is long and long. I will take a solid step in the road ahead with loyalty and perseverance, uphold firm faith, and walk through the most cherished scenery of this life.
Also in September, in the detachment teaching team, new comrades from all over the world were looking at everything they saw with their curious eyes. The transition from local youth to qualified soldiers is the first solid footprint on the road of new recruits, and here will be the first step in their military careers and a big step in the road of life.
