The huge sunken square is the main space for people to pay homage to and remember the martyrs, surrounded by reliefs of 100 meters long, showing the revolutionary struggle of the Shanghai people during the Opium War to the Liberation War, and the decorative garland pattern symbolizes the shanghai people's remembrance of the revolutionary martyrs.
The Shanghai Bund History Memorial Hall in the square is free to the public, and the memorial hall displays hundreds of precious historical photos and objects, witnessing the historical changes of the Bund and the New Bund.

The foreign trade headquarters building was originally the British merchant Jardine Matheson & Co., which was the earliest British trading house to enter China. The Shanghai Clearing House Building, formerly known as the Green Mail Ship Building, was invested and built by the British businessman Yitai Company, which is a national key cultural relics protection unit and a historical and cultural relics protection building in Shanghai. The China Everbright Bank Building, formerly known as the Oriental Harmony Bank Building, is the only building in the Bund Complex funded by the French.
Looking southwest, from left to right, there is a spire on the opposite side of the road, namely the North Building of the Peace Hotel, the Bank of China Building, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Building, the Agricultural Bank of China Building, and the Foreign Trade Corporation Building. The North Building of the Peace Hotel was originally the Chinachem Hotel Building, which was known as the "First Floor of the Far East" at that time. The south side of the North Building of the Peace Hotel is the South Building, just across a Nanjing East Road, the South Building was originally the Huizhong Hotel Building, the Huizhong Hotel is one of the oldest existing hotels in Shanghai, and it is also the site of the Anti-Smoking Association of all nations.
