With the acceleration of the urbanization process and the development of the national economy, the population of mainland cities is growing rapidly, the population is increasing and the natural resources are relatively reduced, which is bound to cause a shortage of urban surface land, and the development of new urban space has become the only way for sustainable urban development. As an invisible wealth, the rational development and use of underground space is an effective way to solve the shortage of urban land, and it is also the demand for urban intensive development. In this regard, Xuhui Binjiang Media Port has set a very good example for us.

Xuhui Binjiang Media Harbor knows how much

The West Bund Media Port, a new landmark of Shanghai's cultural industry, is located in the core area of Xuhui Riverside in Shanghai, and the above-ground buildings are arranged in the style of "nine palace grids". It will become a new center of Shanghai international culture, media and science and technology featuring film and television production, digital technology, cultural entertainment and leisure consumption, and in the near future, CCTV East China Headquarters, Tencent East China Headquarters, Youzu Network and other cultural media "giants" will "settle down" here.

Did you know that under the horizon of this "Nine House Grid", there is also a huge "dungeon"? The total construction area of the media port is 1 million square meters, of which the underground area reaches 440,000 square meters. Here not only has a fully connected B1 floor underground commercial complex, 5200 parking spaces, but also to achieve "people-vehicle diversion, parking space sharing, vehicle-vehicle diversion" underground ring channel, set business, transportation, leisure in one. Here, public resources are set up and shared on a large scale, land resources are also used efficiently, and the space under the horizon ushers in a win-win situation of economic and social benefits.

Play the Underground Space Development Concerto with the design master as the baton

The three-dimensional space pedestrian network and the public circular passage for vehicles are like two ribbons, connecting the media port in the air and underground. The huge building group with a total depth of five floors is the first case of the overall development of underground space and the independent project transfer in Shanghai, but it encountered many difficulties in the construction process.

Since the two-storey aboveground and three-storey underground land of the media port are transferred to different development and construction entities, and the projects need to be interconnected through public open space and shared facilities, how to coordinate the progress of each project and how to unify the construction technical standards of the connecting parts have become the biggest difficulties that need to be overcome in the construction process of the media port.

"For example, the underground parking lot here, according to the design plan needs to be equipped with 22 102 square meters of civil defense projects, the specific design standards are provided by the civil defense department, but the development and construction of the parking lot is another, when the local parking lot and the shopping mall part are connected together, it involves another development body." The West Bund project staff said, "Therefore, in the design phase and the pre-construction stage, we spent a lot of time communicating and coordinating with different development entities to ensure that the sub-projects could be 'integrated' and successful." ”

In view of the difficulties in the development process, the designers of the West Bund project creatively joined the general control link of the design, taking "innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing" as the construction concept, and unified planning, unified design, unified construction and unified management as the means to control each sub-project as a whole to help the smooth progress of each project construction. The design of the general control is like a baton, while formulating unified standards for construction, it is also constantly coordinating and balancing the interests of multiple parties, and finally presents a "concerto" of regional group development and unified construction of underground space.

In addition, the buildings in the West Bund media port area are jointly integrated in a huge container from the third basement floor to the second floor platform on the ground, and how to effectively realize the connection of various moving lines and create the integration of above ground and underground is also a problem that the project leader considered at the beginning of the design.

The "urban core tube" that brings together lighting, ventilation and smoke exhaust, information release, and three-dimensional transportation functions was born. Through the "urban core tube", the second floor of the ground to the third underground floor realizes the vertical transportation connection between underground subway, ground transportation and other public transportation and commercial and office, so that several relatively independent plots are connected into an organic whole, which greatly enhances the utilization value of underground space. At the same time, as the core hub of the three-dimensional block, the "urban core tube" not only reduces the traffic pressure, can easily send visitors from the subway station and parking lot to the destination, but also brings users a charming space experience because of the rich spatial changes.

Under the guidance of the "baton" of the design master, the pedestrian and vehicular networks on the ground and underground are connected in series, opening up the vertical space of the five floors of the media port vertically; the floors are closely connected through the "urban core tube". The "three-dimensional city" of the West Bund Media Port shows us a model of the extreme development of urban underground space, and also makes a useful attempt to explore a new model of sustainable development of high-density megacities, and the "concerto" of underground space development will continue...
