On January 14, a 68-year-old man in Ningxiang Township, Hunan Province, left Renmin North Road and Taijiayuan Community in Ningxiang City. According to Ms. Song, a family member of the elderly, the elderly had sequelae due to gas poisoning before, had symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, and accidentally went missing when they went out alone that day.
After the old man went missing, the family mobilized relatives and friends to look around and posted search notices everywhere. Although many citizens helped to find and give advice, they were not found for several days. On the 17th, Ms. Song, who was impatient, asked the Red Cross Blue Sky Rescue Center in Hunan Province for help.
After receiving the call for help, the Hunan Provincial Red Cross Blue Sky Rescue Center quickly set up an emergency rescue team of 10 people and came to Ms. Song's community at 9 a.m. on the 17th. After on-site analysis and communication with the family, the rescue team formulated a search and rescue plan of "aerial drone + ground personnel search" and carried out search and rescue around the community.
At about 14:00, the search and rescue team found the old man in a diversion ditch 1 kilometer away from Ms. Song's community, and it had been 72 hours since the old man had gone missing. According to Dai Junwu, deputy director of the Red Cross Blue Sky Rescue Center in Hunan Province, the old man was found with symptoms of hypothermia and was weak. Rescue team members immediately dialed 120 for help and calmed the emotions of the elderly at the scene. After the 120 ambulance arrived, rescue team members assisted in taking the elderly to the hospital for examination.
It is understood that the rain after the old man went missing for several days, causing lung infections, and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
