On the same day, the launching ceremony of the Beijing Primary and Secondary School Students' Simulated Winter Olympics and the "Seeing Words as Faces, Dialogue winter Olympics" activity was held. The event was hosted by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau, the Information and Publicity Department of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, the Beijing Olympic City Development Promotion Center, the Capital Institute of Physical Education, the Beijing National Art Heritage Promotion Association, and the Changping District Education Committee, the Beijing Education and Media Center, and the Beijing Jundushan Ski Resort.
At the launching ceremony, representatives of junior high school students from seven schools, including Beijing Middle School, proposed that children across the country and the world "meet up, write up, and move" to cheer for the Athletes of the Winter Olympics in the form of watching the games from a screen; send blessings to their favorite athletes and the Winter Olympics in the form of handwritten letters, and share the harvest; carry forward the Olympic spirit in the form of snow on the ice and participate in the Winter Olympics; strengthen their physique and temper their will. After the launching ceremony, the simulated Winter Olympics activities officially began, and students from some primary and secondary schools experienced fun projects such as snow one-legged relay race, snow pull rope pull race and flat sliding relay race.

It is understood that in response to the call to "drive 300 million people to participate in ice and snow sports", in recent years, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission has strengthened overall planning, paid attention to coordination, and taken multiple measures to comprehensively promote the promotion and popularization of campus ice and snow sports. Another initiator, Wei Shijun from the Affiliated Experimental Middle School of Beijing Normal University, said that he had made an appointment with his parents and friends to watch the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics together, watch his favorite sports, and also want to write letters to his favorite athletes, and would also use this winter vacation to participate in skating, skiing and other sports, cheer for the Winter Olympics with his own actions, and also make himself healthy and happy.
It is understood that since the epidemic period in 2020, several junior high school students in Beijing launched the activity of "picking up paper and pencil and seeing words as they are", under the strong support and advocacy of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee Education Working Committee and the Municipal Education Commission, this activity has become an important carrier for primary and secondary school students in Beijing to innovate and carry out the "four histories" education and the education of socialist core values and an important platform for media education activities.
