Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

author:Bian Zhou Jiedushi envoy

Regarding the transformation of the Tang Dynasty from prosperity to decline, many historical records are more similar: an old and dim-witted emperor, indulging in the depraved life of sound and color dogs and horses, mistakenly handed over the fate of his country to a pair of brothers and sisters surnamed Yang, and a fat man surnamed An, and finally made an irreparable mistake, almost destroying the entire empire.

Personally, I think that there is only one point where this statement is accurate, that is, the final result.

Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

In fact, a careful analysis will reveal that the real situation should be two fairly shrewd people who have concealed the old and slippery emperor to engage in political struggle, and as a result, the people on the lesser level of political struggle are all blinded, and they pick up the guys and fight against the opponents they lost, and eventually trigger a large-scale rebellion, thus completely destroying an incomparably powerful empire.

I don't know if I believe everyone can guess that the winner of that political struggle is Yang Guozhong, and the one who is blinded is called An Lushan. And the one that opened the prelude to the all-out struggle between the two of them, I think, should be the visit in the first month of The Thirteenth Year of Tianbao.

It is estimated that under the continuous warning of Yang Guozhong, Li Longji did have doubts about An Lushan's large-scale aggressive action, but he did not take away An Lushan's idea for the time being, so at the end of the twelfth year of Tianbao (753), Li Longji specially sent his close eunuch Fu Xuanlin to Pinglu to visit the facts.

I have to say that sending eunuchs to investigate the case of rebellion is really a complete trick. And indeed it is. As soon as he arrived in Pinglu, he was bribed by An Lushan, who was warmly received, and when he returned, he proved that what Yang Guozhong said was not true, and An Lushan was definitely a big loyalist. Only then did Li Longji believe that he would no longer pay much attention to the movements of pinglu.

An Lushan's crisis of trust was easily settled by money, but he could not breathe a sigh of relief, because he was soon informed that the emperor wanted him to go to Chang'an for a visit in the first month.

According to the regulations, during the New Year's Festival, local governors should go on a pilgrimage to see the emperor, and at the same time report on last year's work and tell their plans for the new year. However, due to the complexity of the situation in the border areas and the plethora of affairs, it is generally not necessary to return to Beijing every year in person, but only to send someone to report peace and send some local specialties to the imperial court. However, this time, the emperor not only personally issued an edict, but also named An Lushan to come personally, could there be any conspiracy trap in it?

There is no conspiracy trap, but there is one conspiracy.

Yang Guozhong had already asserted in front of His Majesty the Emperor that An Lushan had a different heart, and the imperial court suddenly recruited him, and he would certainly not dare to come.

Therefore, on the third day of the first month of the thirteenth month of the bao dynasty, when An Lushan appeared outside the palace gate with a big swing, Yang Zaixiang suddenly froze, and he never dreamed that An Lushan, who was openly recruiting troops and buying horses, actually had the courage to appear in Chang'an.

In the final analysis, Yang Guozhong was inexperienced in the struggle, and he had not been able to grasp the conclusive evidence that could prove An Lushan's rebellion, and only by relying on a few gossip messages from the roadside society, what people did not dare to come.

After An Lushan arrived, the most embarrassed person was Yang Guozhong, and the most embarrassed person was Li Longji.

Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

Because When An Fat Zi saw that he was Na Tou, when he looked up, he was already in tears:

"The subject was originally a Hu man, illiterate, and thanks to The grace of His Majesty, he was promoted to such a high position, and now Yang Guozhong is jealous of his subjects, and it seems that he has to kill his subjects before he is willing!"

Hearing An Lushan say this, Li Longji immediately took out the style of the eldest brother and said on the spot that as long as you have yourself for a day, no one will move you. In order to soothe An Lushan's wounded soul, His Majesty the Emperor issued an edict promoting An Lushan to Shangshu Zuo, and also rewarded an amount of money as An Lushan's mental loss fee.

This time, Yang Guozhong really stole chicken and did not become a corrosive rice. With his selfless help, An Lushan not only gained Li Longji's trust even more, but also got a lot of funds and became more difficult to deal with.

An Lushan's original plan was indeed to "serve the emperor for a day and call the soldiers", but after experiencing this pilgrimage, An Lushan realized that Yang Guozhong's presence would probably not allow his plan to progress smoothly, so he decided to revise his plan and be ready to act at any time.

However, there are some necessary tasks to be done before the military is officially launched.

Soon after An Lushan returned to his residence, he immediately wrote a letter, imploring the imperial court to allow him to concurrently serve as an envoy to the Idle Stables, LongYou Qunmu, and other ministers.

The so-called idle stables, long right herdsmen, etc., and the governor of the prefecture are not a position, but a collective name for several positions such as internal and external idle stables, but these positions have one thing in common - managing horses.

An Lushan's initiative to ask for the horse was certainly not to pay tribute to the rebellious ancestor Sun Monkey, who was born in Bow Ma Wen, but to preemptively grasp the key resource for future war victory and defeat: war horses.

An Lushan proposed to be the director of royal horses and the general manager of the national horse herding industry, and the general leader managed all the horses, and the clear-eyed people could find out at a glance that this was to be done.

But even so, Li Longji still approved the corresponding appointment of An Lushan.

This is not due to old age, but out of a long-term trust and a kind of guilt.

Li Longji originally planned to make An Lushan the secretary of Tongping Zhangshi, but Yang Guozhong heard about this matter and stirred up this matter. Therefore, when An Lushan made this request, Li Longjili rejected the public opinion and agreed at the first time.

Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

Unsurprisingly, after An Lushan got his wish, he immediately started a small action. He first secretly ordered his cronies to select thousands of horses from all over the country and send them to Fanyang for special breeding, and soon seized the real power of Lou Fu's superintendent and chief manager Zhang Wenyu MaMu, so that the deployment of military horses in the three towns of Fanyang, Pinglu, and Hedong was completely under the direct control of An Lushan.

However, An Lushan did not intend to rebel immediately at this time, because he knew very well that if he wanted to seize the world, what was more important than weapons and equipment such as war horses was the human heart.

On February 23, 13, Tianbao, An Lushan took advantage of the hot iron to make another mistake, asked for merit for his soldiers, and applied for a reward for those who had meritorious service. An Lushan's reason sounds very reasonable and sufficient: the generals have many opponents, including Xi, Khitan, Jiu surname, Tongluo and other tribes, so everyone has made a lot of meritorious contributions, and the number of meritorious people is also very large. Therefore, An Lushan suggested that the imperial court could not stick to the convention, give an exception to promotion, and preferably hand over the prepared letter of appointment to himself and bring it back to the army for issuance.

This is obviously borrowing flowers to offer buddhas, borrowing the hand of the imperial court to buy people's hearts for themselves. However, Li Longji once again agreed. Therefore, with the great stroke of His Majesty the Emperor's pen, as many as 500 people in An Lushan's army were promoted to generals, and more than 2,000 people were promoted to zhonglang generals!

The power needed and the things you want are all securely in hand, and it is time to return to Fanyang.

On the first day of March, An Lushan officially resigned to Li Longji.

However, at this moment, Li Longji did something that no one could imagine.

The old emperor was at the scene of the send-off, and in full view of everyone, he actually untied the jade belt on his waist.

Of course, Li Longji, who was nearly seventy years old, was not yet old and confused to the point of being convenient regardless of the occasion, he untied his belt in order to take off the dragon robe, and the dragon robe was to reward it to An Lushan, so that this scene firmly enveloped An Lushan's heart.

But the development of events showed that what An Lushan thought at that time and what he did later was different from what Li Longji expected.

According to the historical records, the moment An Lushan received the dragon robe given by Li Longji was both surprised and joyful. Shockingly, he did not expect li Longji to give himself such a symbolic dress. Happily, he tacitly accepted that this was a precursor to his future becoming emperor.

Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

An Lushan accepted the dragon robe with the emperor's body temperature in tears, while Li Longji waved goodbye to him with an expression full of admiration.

Goodbye, goodbye, if you delay any longer, you may not be able to go.

In order to prevent the emperor from being moved by Yang Guozhong again and sending people to arrest himself back, An Lushan staged a life-and-death situation in the Guanzhong region.

First of all, he threw off his arms and ran wildly, waited until he ran out of Tongguan, hurriedly abandoned the horse ship (which had been arranged in advance), and fled Chang'an as quickly as possible with the cooperation of the porters on the shore. In just one day, he was hundreds of miles away from Chang'an.

At this point, An Lushan was completely safe, but one person was in an extremely dangerous situation. He is the embodiment of wisdom and malice, the former li linfu's right-hand man, Ji Wen.

All along, in yang Guozhong's eyes, Ji Wen is "his own person", and the friendship between the two people can be traced back to before Yang Guozhong became the prime minister. But what Yang Guozhong didn't know was that in addition to being a cool official with means and a senior staff officer with brains, this Ji Wen was also a very active social activist who liked to make friends, and one of his friends was named An Lushan.

Long before making friends with Yang Guozhong, Ji Wen had already hooked up with An Lushan, and it was said that the relationship between the two was very harmonious, and they also worshiped the Gan brothers, and An Lushan repeatedly recommended Ji Wen to Li Longji as his deputy. This also made Yang Guozhong realize that the relationship between Ji Wen and An Lushan was extraordinary, and after sending someone to investigate, he quickly grasped a truth: it turned out that Ji Wen was a close confidant of An Lushan, a close confidant who was extremely obedient from beginning to end.

Yang Guozhong was very surprised and angry about Ji Wen's betrayal, so he decided to kill Ji Wen and An Lushan together.

At the behest of Yang Guozhong, Jing Zhaoyin and Li Da sent people to suddenly surround and search An Lushan's mansion in Chang'an, and at once arrested Li Chao, An Dai, and several other close disciples of An Lushan and sent them to Yushitai for interrogation.

Yang Guozhong originally wanted to use these few an Lushan disciples as a breakthrough to collect strong evidence that Could prove An Lushan's deliberate rebellion, or black materials that could bring down Ji Wen. Without admitting it, An Lushan and Ji Wen did not leak anything, these few doormen really did not know anything, raided and interrogated for many days, in the end they still found nothing, had to kill them.

Yang Guozhong sent people to search An Lushan's residence and execute An Lushan's disciples, the ultimate purpose of which was to provoke An Lushan, so as to see the flaws of the enemy and deal with the other party in one fell swoop.

When the news of Kemen's arrest and murder spread, An Lushan and his henchmen did not seem surprised.

Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

Because after the incident, after a detailed understanding and careful analysis of the situation, Ji Wen quickly made an accurate judgment - Yang Guozhong currently had no chips in his hands that could threaten An Lushan and himself, and now, he was just bluffing, intending to disturb his side and take the opportunity to fish in muddy waters.

Therefore, the countermeasure given by Gwen can be roughly called "the enemy does not move, I do not move", live as usual, should eat, drink, and do what you do on weekdays.

Ji Wen warned An Lushan in this way, in fact, he himself did the same.

So, as usual, Gwen took over another deal.

The specific amount of this business is unknown, but I think it should not be less, because the person who did business with him was Wei Zhi, the son of Wei Anshi, a former Shangshu zuo servant, who had been the Taishou of Hedong and an interview envoy of This Dao.

The brother was well-known and talented as an official at the time, and was always regarded as the most promising candidate for the next generation of court newcomers to the chancellor. Therefore, this statement reached Yang Guozhong's ears, so like Li Linfu, out of concern for the new forces, Yang Guozhong found someone to hack Wei Zhi and let people report Wei Zhi, saying that he was suspected of corruption.

Under the control of Yang Guozhong, Wei Zhi originally thought that he was bound to die, but someone told him that there might be salvation, because there were many ghost ideas in the imperial history, and this kind of work to help people get rid of crimes was taken over a lot, and all the people who had used it said good.

Upon learning of this, Wei Zhi seemed to have found a life-saving straw, and through active activities, after seven turns and eight turns, he finally found this savior who was said to have great supernatural powers and a reputation.

Ji Wen took over this job and began to move, and after discovering during the investigation that the black hand behind the scenes was actually Yang Guozhong, he did not say a word and directly sent someone to Fanyang to find An Lushan.

If An Lushan had come forward to defend Wei Zhi, Wei Zhi would have been released from prison safely. For this point, both Ji Wen and Yang Guozhong have a clear understanding. However, now Yang Guozhong didn't care about this anymore, he already had other plans and pursuits.

In November of the thirteenth year of Tianbao (754), Yang Guozhong secretly reported to the emperor that Yushi Jiwen had accepted bribes and colluded with border generals, suspected of interfering in normal judicial procedures, and engaging in black cases.

Li Longji, who hated being fooled by the people below the most, was immediately furious, and he immediately stated that he would have absolutely zero tolerance for Ji Wen's behavior, and would never tolerate it, no matter who came forward to intercede, it was not okay to find out one by one.

The emperor personally set the tone, and the fate of Ji Wen and others can be said to have been set at this moment.

Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

In November, the results of the investigation into Wei Zhi's case were finally released: Wei Zhi's bribery and Ji Wen's crime of interfering in the administration of justice were both well-documented.

Li Longji ordered: Demoting Wei Zhi to Guiling County Lieutenant, and Demoting Ji Wen to Liyang Changshi.

As soon as this result was announced, An Lushan immediately came forward to complain on Ji Wen's behalf and publicly accused Yang Guozhong of framing Zhongliang. But this time, Li Longji did not comment on An Lushan's statement, and An Lushan's performance was like a mud cow entering the sea, and there was no news.

An Lushan was deeply flustered, and for the first time since he was favored by the emperor, he was ignored by the emperor for the first time in the world.

This made him wonder if he had lost the emperor's trust. If the answer is yes, then what is coming must be Yang Guozhong's fierce and very vicious rectification, so that even if the preparation for the army is not very sufficient, it will have to be reversed.

In order to confirm his suspicions and confirm how much influence he still had over the emperor, An Lushan decided to make a tentative attempt.

On February 22 of the fourteenth year of Tianbao (755), An Lushan appointed the deputy general He Qiannian to enter the capital and requested that thirty-two Generals be replaced by thirty-two Han generals.

This is a well-designed topic.

The realization of the Han Dynasty in the army system was a new measure proposed by Li Linfu in those years, and later in the implementation, it has always been a succession of individual personnel transfers, such as the large-scale replacement proposed by An Lushan at this time, which has never appeared. More importantly, those generals were, without exception, An Lushan's cronies, and if an Lushan did as he wished, his control over the army would undoubtedly be greatly strengthened, and at the same time, the influence of the imperial court over this part of the army would be weakened.

Therefore, for such a request, those who really doubtEd An Lushan would never agree.

But on the same day, An Lushan got a reply: agreed.

The emperor not only agreed to An Lushan's request for a replacement, but also ordered people to start making a letter of appointment.

Obviously, the emperor still trusted An Lushan. Li Longji did not seem to realize that there was actually evil intentions behind An Lushan's request.

But one man discovered the mystery.

This person was the new prime minister, Wei Jiansu, who made an appointment with Yang Guozhong and prepared to face the saint and mentioned the matter.

But the next day, as soon as He saw Wei Jiansu mention this, the emperor immediately changed his face, and Yang Guozhong hesitated, so that until Li Longji got up and left, Yang Guozhong just stayed there and did not dare to say a word.

Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

An Lushan's request was finally approved for implementation. However, Yang Guozhong and Wei Jiansu did not intend to give up the struggle easily, so a few days later, the two men asked to see the emperor again.

"The ministers and others have a plan to prevent An Lushan from plotting rebellion."

"Tell it!"

"Now, ask Your Majesty to promote him to Pingzhangshi, summon him to the capital to assist the government, and then appoint Jia Xun, the deputy envoy of Jiedu, as the envoy of Fanyang Jiedushi, Lü Zhizhi as the envoy of Pinglu Jiedushi, and Yang Guangyi as the envoy of Hedong Jiedushi, then his power will naturally disintegrate."

I have to say that Yang Guozhong and Wei Jiansu's idea is more ingenious, and there is a certain degree of practicality. If An Lushan had been ordered to come, he would have been left in Chang'an, and after a long time, his position and influence in the three northern military regions would have been slowly replaced by the three newly appointed emissaries. If An Lushan received an edict and refused to carry it out, it would basically be confirmed that An Lushan intended to rebel, but once the edict appointing Jia Xun and the other three people as envoys to the new festival was conveyed, even if An Lushan disobeyed the order and immediately plotted rebellion, the areas and troops that were coerced by him would be greatly reduced, even if it was limited to Fanyang.

Of course, Li Longji quickly realized the brilliance of this plan, so he agreed to implement this proposal and immediately passed on the order to draft an edict immediately.

Soon, the edict was drawn up and presented to the emperor's desk. If Li Longji had issued the edict with one sentence at this time, it is estimated that the fate of the entire country and the future of many people would undergo tremendous changes. However, he did not.

At the critical moment, he summoned not an envoy to convey the edict, but a close eunuch, who was Fu Xuanlin, who had been bribed by An Lushan for a lot of money.

The emperor summoned Fu Xuanlin and asked him to rush to Fanyang with rare fruits, nominally to reward An Lushan, who had worked hard and was loyal to the country, but in fact conducted another in-depth investigation of An Lushan and the local field situation.

Fu Xuanlin accepted the emperor's instructions and vowed to complete the task. The subsequent development of the matter shows that he did what he said, but only to the matter of sending fruit.

After Fu Xuanlin arrived in Fanyang, An Lushan took out a large amount of money as usual and smashed Fu Xuanlin, and Fu Gonggong was smashed by the treasure, and his majesty's sincere teachings were naturally automatically thrown out of the cloud of nine clouds.

Therefore, after Fu Xuanlin returned, she once again assured Li Longji that An Lushan had no problems, and that the negative news about him in the DPRK and China was all a small group of jealous ministers who were dividing your monarch-vassal relationship.

Li Longji nodded. He once again believed Fu Xuanlin's report, and the opportunity to save the national fortune was once again missed.

In fact, in his later years, Li Longji had several opportunities to eliminate the chaos of Anshi and save the country. This time, it was the second time, and he would have two more chances in the back.

Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

After listening to Fu Xuanlin's report, Li Longji summoned Yang Guozhong and Wei Jiansu to express his latest views:

"An Lushan, this person, will treat him with sincerity, and forgive him will have no second thoughts." The Khitans and Xi people in the northeast still needed him to deal with. Therefore, today, Yu Yu personally came forward as a guarantee to ensure that An Lushan would not have any different ambitions, and you should stop worrying about it! ”

At this point, Yang Guozhong was finished, and he was already prepared to take advantage of the situation after completing the demolition of An Lushan, or to directly drown and maim An Lushan, who had been deceived into the imperial court, or directly force An Lushan to rebel, and quickly gather a large army in the Fanyang area and eliminate it on the spot. But now Li Longji's guarantee just held up a huge protective umbrella for An Lushan, An Lushan's position was not lost, and he Yang Guozhong lost all means of attack in a blink of an eye, and could only sit where he was, waiting for the other side to counterattack.

An Lushan certainly would not miss such an opportunity. In April of that year, An Lushan made a victory to the imperial court, saying that he had broken Xi and Khitan.

An Lushan's intention in this move was to show his own value and strengthen the emperor's determination and confidence in letting him stay in office, and of course, it did not rule out the intention of demonstrating provocation to the political enemy Yang Guozhong. But in any case, he could not imagine that this move was about to bring him a big trouble.

And the maker of this trouble is a man named Pei Shiyan.

After receiving An Lushan's good news, the happiest person was naturally Li Longji. Because this proves from fact that His Majesty the Emperor's vision is indeed still accurate, and to deal with the Khitan and Xi people, it is necessary to have An Lushan on the border. In order to celebrate this battle of great significance, at the suggestion of Li Longji, the imperial court discussed and decided to send Pei Shiyan as a special envoy to Hebei Province to comfort An Lushan and the soldiers who had made meritorious contributions in this battle.

On the day he came to Fanyang, Pei Shiyan realized that there was a problem here.

In the past, whenever the envoys of the imperial court came to Fanyang, An Lushan would show the enthusiasm of his relatives, personally greet him when he went out of the city upside down, and arranged for people to organize the people to welcome them. But this time, Pei Shiyan was greeted by neither a smiling Envoy of An Jiedu, nor a fanyang resident who was cheering with flowers, but only a general sent by An Lushan, and the place of the arranged meeting was still the heavily guarded military headquarters in the city.

Pei Shiyan privately learned that this change was only made after an envoy of An Jiedu returned from Chang'an last year (that is, the thirteenth year of Tianbao), and since then, An Jiedu's health seems to have not been very good, and even if the emissaries of the imperial court come, it is likely that because An Lushan is ill, he cannot meet him in time.

Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

Sure enough, the same thing happened to Pei Shiyan, and it wasn't until almost a month after being cold that Pei Shiyan saw An Lushan. However, Pei Shiyan still felt very uncomfortable. Because during the whole meeting, he found that An Lushan was always a casual look, and between his eyebrows and words, there was still a trace of arrogance from time to time, and this An Lushan had completely lost the appearance of a respectful and polite An Fat Man in the past, and even behaved like a courtier at all in etiquette.

Isn't this hu man really going to rebel!

Pei Shiyan couldn't help but be shocked.

So after meeting with An Lushan, he hurriedly ended his trip in Hebei, returned to Chang'an as quickly as possible, and reported in detail what he had seen and heard and related judgments to the above.

After reading Pei Shiyan's report, Yang Guozhong was overjoyed. He immediately asked the emperor to take swift action against the ill-intentioned An Lushan.

However, at this time, Li Longji still believed in An Lushan, but his majesty's idea soon changed. Because he learned that the auxiliary Lin lin he had sent to investigate had received an An Lushan's black money, and there was more than one, each of which was a huge amount.

Having been fooled by people for such a long time, I believe that it is difficult for anyone to have a peaceful mind, let alone Li Longji, who has always prided himself on being wise.

It is said that His Majesty the Emperor immediately burst into anger and rushed to the crown: Fu Xuanlin, you are really tired of living!

Fu Xuanlin's life ended here, and the emperor casually found a crime and cleaned up Fu Xuanlin.

Fu Xuanlin, who had accepted bribes and deceived the king, was killed, and Li Longji also began to doubt the motives of An Lushan, who had paid the bribe, and after a little thought, he decided to make a test of An Lushan.

Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

One of An Lushan's sons, An Qingzong, had previously made a family affair with the Lord of Rongyi County, but had not yet held a ceremony, so he still lived in Chang'an. In June of that year, Li Longji personally inquired about the matter and thoughtfully said that he would help the couple to complete the marriage as soon as possible and truly promote this marriage.

Of course, in order to ensure that each link does not go wrong, do not leave regrets for a couple of newcomers, parents of both sides must bother to do it, even if you can't participate in the whole process, you kiss your son's wedding, you as a father at least have to attend, to be a witness.

Therefore, Li Longji personally wrote an edict in his hand, asking An Lushan to come to Chang'an to observe the ceremony.

An Lushan's reply was this: There is a disease, can not go!

An Lushan was not a fool in the end, he keenly felt that Fu Xuanlin's sudden killing was related to himself, and if he went to the capital again this time, he might not be able to come back. Therefore, claiming to be sick is undoubtedly the wisest choice, and the more serious the illness, the better. After all, you can't always get married when your father is seriously ill, and if it goes well, maybe you can trick the imperial court into sending people back to Fanyang in the name of letting his son do filial piety.

This time, Li Longji was not deceived. Therefore, An Lushan said that the illness did not come, and Li Longji did not respond much, which means that everyone is so consumed, but to see what tricks you have!

Of course there are tricks, and this year especially many.

After only a month, An Lushan changed his mouth and expressed his willingness to come to Chang'an. However, given his serious illness, An Lushan himself still could not come, but he was able to send out a trustworthy future. According to An Lushan, there were twenty-two people in this batch of people who entered the capital, and they not only brought their apologies for the inconvenience, but also brought gifts to His Majesty the Emperor by the way—three thousand high-quality war horses.

At that time, the three thousand horses will be cared for by two grooms each, and will be escorted by three hundred vehicles (three people per car) to the Beijing Division.

As soon as the news came that An Lushan was going to send war horses to the imperial court, the first person to feel that the situation was not quite right was Yin Da Xixun in Henan. This benevolent brother's mental arithmetic ability should not be bad, after listening to the news, the conclusion also came out: rather than saying that these people were sending war horses, it is better to say that this is an army of nearly 10,000 people, Andan Lushan sent so many people to Chang'an, it is inevitable that there will be deception.

Therefore, he hurried to the book and asked the emperor to be sure to refuse the sending of horses, which could turn into a terrible cavalry unit in minutes.

Da Xixun's words reminded Li Longji, and His Majesty the Emperor immediately followed the flow of kindness, saying that the imperial court did not need war horses now, and even if they wanted to send them, they could wait until the next winter, at which time, the imperial court would be equipped with horsemen to take care of the horses, and there would be no need to trouble Fan Yang's army.

In addition, Li Longji also asked Feng Shenwei, the envoy who had gone to proclaim his will, to bring another sentence:

"Recently, I specially opened a new hot spring pool for Aiqing, and in October this year, I waited for Aiqing to come to Huaqing Palace."

When he heard the warm words of His Majesty the Emperor from Feng Shenwei's mouth, An Lushan's face no longer had the appearance of the grateful zero he used to have, he just coldly asked: "Is the Son of Heaven safe and stable?" ”

After receiving a positive reply, An Lushan thought about it and stopped speaking, until after a while, he suddenly spoke:

"It doesn't matter if the horse doesn't let it be sacrificed!" In October, I will arrive at Kyoshi with great energy! ”

There is no need to test each other anymore, and there is no need to wait any longer. Let's have a real battle, Li Longji. I'd like to see if you can still make me bow down to you with satisfaction!"

Why did Yang Guozhong fail to overthrow An Lushan, and how many times did Li Longji assist An Lushan?

Feng Shenwei almost ran back to Chang'an with a cry, he knew that he would almost not be able to return to Chang'an alive, at this time, even people at Feng Shenwei's level could see very clearly: An Lushan was about to rebel against the rhythm.

In front of His Majesty the Emperor, Feng Shenwei finally cried uncontrollably:

"The subject will almost never see His Majesty again!"

Feng Shenwei's crying made Li Longji no longer have luck, and it seemed that the cute An Fat Man was indeed determined, and there was no room for negotiation and maneuver.

That being the case, let's do two tricks!

Before the anshi rebellion officially broke out, according to many history books, Li Longji was obsessed with An Lushan, and the imperial court did nothing to rebel, but in fact this was not the case, on the hidden front, Li Longji and Yang Guozhong had already begun to carry out a lot of preparations for war, and it could be said that they were very effective. Among them, a more prominent achievement is that they successfully plotted against an extremely key figure, that is, Yang Guangyi, who was then the deputy retainer of Taiyuan.

Yang Guangyi was originally the deputy envoy of Hedong Jiedu, an an's deputy in the Hedong Military Region, and followed An Lushan for many years, but what An Lushan did not expect was that this person was actually plotted against by the imperial court, and it was Yang Guozhong himself who plotted against Yang Guangyi.

A firewall was built. The development of the aftermath showed that this firewall had indeed caused some trouble to An Lushan, but An Lushan had already made up his mind, even if it was the Great Wall that stood in front of him.

On the ninth day of November in the fourteenth year of Tianbao (755), An Lushan, who was also the envoy of the three towns of Fanyang, Pinglu, and Hedong, gathered all the soldiers and horses he could mobilize, as well as the troops of Tongluo, Xi, Khitan and Murong Wei, totaling 150,000 troops, claiming to be 200,000 people, and officially raised troops in Fanyang.
