On the afternoon of January 18, at the 172nd press conference on epidemic prevention and control in Tianjin, according to He Peng, the second-level inspector and spokesman of the Tianjin Municipal Health Commission, from 0 to 24:00 on January 17, 2022, there were 18 new confirmed cases of local new coronary pneumonia in Tianjin (15 cases in Jinnan District, 2 cases in Xiqing District, and 1 case in Hexi District), of which 10 cases were light and 8 cases were ordinary. There were no new asymptomatic infections. The new cases are all isolated and controlled personnel.
At present, nucleic acid testing in key areas has been carried out in 7 districts of Xiqing District, Hexi District, Hongqiao District, Jinghai District and Binhai New Area of Tianjin. The nucleic acid test on January 17 has been completed, a total of 2,097,987 samples were collected, and 6 cases of positive people were detected, all from the isolation and control personnel in Jinnan District, and the rest were negative.
On January 18, the nucleic acid test, as of 12:00 noon, had sampled 1,581,523 people, and the sampling and testing work was still in progress.
