The Northeast Field Army is the most powerful unit of our army during the Liberation War, because our army adopted the policy of developing to the north and defending to the south in the early stage of the war, so a large number of elite units of the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army have successively gone to the northeast, basically these elite units have later become the elite forces of Dongye, with successive reorganizations, Dongye later established 12 corps, plus the 60th Army of the Changchun Uprising, later reorganized into the 50th Army, and the main force of Dongye troops reached 13.
Among them, the 38th Army, which was particularly famous for its outstanding achievements in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, was hailed as the Banzai Army; in fact, there were many units belonging to the Northeast Field Army that participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and there was one unit that was unknown, but the battle results were equally outstanding, and even in the later foreign counterattack operations of our army, we could see his figure every time, and this unit was the 160th Division of the 54th Army.
However, at the beginning of the establishment of the 54th Army, there were 3 divisions under its command, namely the 130th Division, the 134th Division, and the 135th Division, and later the 54th Army went to the Korean battlefield and made great achievements, of which the 130th Division was stationed on the Tieshan Peninsula of Korea, undertaking the most important task of resisting the enemy, from 1952 onwards, the 130th Division has always been active on the battlefield, and gave the United Nations army led by the US army a heavy blow, and also participated in the famous Jincheng counterattack and won an absolute victory.
However, with the successive reorganization, the 130th Division was later renamed the 160th Division, the various divisions under the jurisdiction of the 54th Army were also renamed, the 54th Army later participated in the war of self-defense against India, and the 160th Division was still the absolute main force in the war, because the 160th Division had previously participated in the suppression of the rebellion in Tibet, so it had a good adaptation to the plateau climate in the region, so in the Battle of Warun, the 160th Division took only 21 days to sweep the Indian army on the border.
Because of the outstanding achievements of the 54th Army, since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the 54th Army (later reorganized into the 54th Group Army) has always been one of the rapid reaction group armies of our country, and it also includes the two ace units of the 38th and 39th Armies, and after 1979, the 160th Division was transferred to the border to participate in the counterattack against Vietnam, and achieved a relatively large strategic victory at the lowest cost.
However, with the modernization of our army, the 160th Division was first reorganized into a motorized infantry division, and then reorganized into a motorized infantry brigade in the late 1990s, and was abolished in 2003, but in the history of the Chinese Liberation War, this unit has always been a symbol of our army's glory as a unit capable of good fighting.
