In fiction writing, many times when it is necessary to explain something to the reader, the author still skips it. Such writing is debatable. Because in these places, readers will have a lot of questions, why the relevant characters do not behave this way, but behave that way. Why not kill this man and keep his life? Wait a minute. Many of these questions, which have yet to be answered by the author, are revealed in the third chapter of The Legend of the Eagle Shooter.
01 Duan Tiande escorted Li Ping to the north
One of the first questions that needs to be explained in this chapter is why Duan Tiande wanted to take Li Ping to the north?
After Duan Tiande escorted Li Ping out of the Fahua Temple, he thought to himself, "I have run into this great disaster, if I return to Lin'an, if nothing else, my uncle will immediately take my life, so he has to go to the north to avoid the wind." The best thief Dao and the Seven Monsters of Jiangnan were seriously injured and died, and my uncle was so angry that he cried out for his life, and it was not too late to go back to the official. Then he asked the boatman to take him and Li Ping all the way north.
However, in this process, why didn't Duan Tiande find a place to settle down?
Duan Tiande turned the ship several times, changed his officer attire, and forced Li Ping to change his clothes. More than ten days later, I crossed the river to Yangzhou, invested in the guest house, and was thinking of settling down in a place as a temporary residence, saying that it was also a coincidence that I overheard someone asking the owner of the guest house about his tracks. Duan Tiande was taken aback, and looked through the crack in the door, and saw that it was a short and ugly looking fat man and a beautiful girl, both of whom were a Jiaxing accent, expected to be a figure in the Seven Monsters of Jiangnan, fortunately, the Yangzhou treasurer did not understand the words of the two men, the two sides did not understand for a while, and hurriedly pulled Li Ping, slipped out of the back door, hired a boat and then went.
It turned out that the Seven Monsters of Jiangnan had found it. Therefore, he did not dare to stop for a moment, went north along the canal, and arrived at Liguoyi on the shore of Weishan Lake in Shandong Province.
There will also be a question in the reader's mind, Duan Tiande is not a good thing in the first place, why did he not insult Li Ping?
Li Ping was rough and big-footed, her appearance was ugly, at this time her belly was bulging, and she scolded and cried all day, and although Duan Tiande was an inferior embryo, she did not have a disrespectful heart for it. The two are facing each other every day, just fighting and scolding each other, and there is no moment of tranquility.
If that was the case, why didn't Duan Tiande simply kill Li Ping?
It's not that he doesn't want to, it's not that, he already has this in mind. It turned out that the Han brothers and sisters had always been tracking down the traces of Li Ping's mother and son, and several times they were very dangerous and almost discovered by them. So at this time, Duan Tiande was more and more afraid of being involved.
Duan Tiande fled with Li Ping, originally wanted to take her as a hostage, in danger so that the enemy did not dare to push too hard, but the situation at the moment has changed, thinking that it is easy to escape alone, leaving this shrew around is a big disaster, it is better to kill with a knife, clean up your hands, and immediately pull out the knife after the Han brothers and sisters leave.
However, Li Ping is not a fool. In fact, she also wants to hand blade the enemy and avenge her husband. She took out the short sword that Qiu Zhiji had given her, which was hidden close to her, and took the opportunity to stab at Duan Tiande. This time he almost killed Duan Tiande, but it frightened Duan Tiande.
Duan Tiande was afraid that Han Baoju would come back again, such as escaping alone, and afraid that Li Ping would reveal her whereabouts to her opponents, so he forced her to get on the boat and go again, still going north along the canal, through Linqing and Dezhou, to the territory of Hebei.
In the process, every time they went to the land for a few days, it was not long before someone came looking for them, and later, in addition to the short fat man and the woman, there was another blind man with an iron rod. Don't think about it, it's Ke Zhen evil. That is to say, the Seven Monsters of Jiangnan were getting closer and closer to Duan Tiande.
Li Ping also found that someone was tracking herself, so she was excited in her heart, she would pretend to be crazy, she would sell stupid, in short, she wanted to use a possibility to leave traces for the people who were tracking. At this point, Duan Tiande had even more headaches.
Killing does not dare to kill, and it is a scourge to keep it. So leave Li Ping behind and run on your own, right?
He thought the same thing, but when he thought about it, he always didn't dare to do harm to her, and none of them succeeded. Therefore, Li Ping's amulet actually became a big burden that could not be shaken off and killed, and she was really distressed to bite and fear to prevent her from coming to avenge her husband's murder. In this way, while suffering, he brought Yanjing, the capital of the Golden Kingdom.
So, why didn't Duan Tiande and Li Ping stay in Jinguo?
Duan Tiande thought to himself, there are many people in the land, find a secluded place to hide, only to kill this shrew by chance, the enemy is no matter how great the ability can not find themselves.
He was full of stomachs and making a wishful calculation, but unexpectedly, as soon as he arrived at the city gate, he saw a group of golden soldiers coming out of the city, and without asking for reasons, he grabbed the two and forced them to take the burden. Li Ping was short in stature, and Jin Bing gave her a lighter burden. Duan Tiande's shoulders were a burden of more than a hundred pounds, which only made him cry bitterly.
The golden soldiers followed an officer all the way north. Where do they go? It turned out to be going to Mongolia. Oops, it's just that, getting norther and farther away. For dozens of days, walk in the bitter cold of the desert. Until they met a large group of soldiers and horses who did not know where to lose the battle.
The officers and men of the Jin Dynasty saw that the defeated troops were great, and immediately scattered and fled. Li Pingben was with Duan Tiande, but the defeated soldiers came like a tide, and Duan Tiande was no longer where to go in the middle of the chaos. Li Ping threw down her burden and desperately fled to a place where there were few people, fortunately, everyone only begged for her life, but no one hurt her.
In this way, through the exposition of interlocking rationality, Li Ping was escorted by Duan Tiande to the Mongolian desert. Such an experience is really legendary, and ordinary people will feel that it is incredible. However, jin Yong's rational writing method makes the reader feel very credible, because he has solved the doubts in the reader's mind.
02 Why did Guo Jing save Zhebei
The second typical example of the rational interpretation in this chapter is why Xiao Guo Jing wanted to save Zhebei, and why should he insist on defending him so much? The book describes it this way:
"I was having a good time when I overheard the sound of horses' hooves in the east, and a horse slowly paced, and a man on the back of the horse bowed down on the saddle. The horse approached, stopped, and immediately the man looked up. Guo Jing was startled and couldn't help but scream. I saw that the man's face was full of mud and sand, and it was the black-robed general he had seen the day before. ”
What does that mean? It turned out that the fierce battle that Guo Jing had seen the day before yesterday was the fierce battle he saw behind the hill, and one of the heroes he admired was the black-robed general in front of him, that is, Tetsubetsu. Because of this impression point, Guo Jing especially wanted to rescue Zhebei, and there would be many rescue actions later.
In the process of these acts of rescuing Tetsubetsu, the typical thing is that Shuchi smokes his whip, and Guo Jing still insists on not saying where Tetsubetsu is hiding. This shows his stubbornness and his resolute defense of Tetsubetsu. "Guo Jing and Tetsubetsu did not know each other, but the day before yesterday, when he saw him heroic and abnormal in battle, he could not help but admire, and after giving Shu Chi these few lashes, his heart was extremely angry, which stimulated a stubborn spirit in his nature."
So, although "Guo Jing was beaten by him with blood all over his face, he was even more stubborn and kept shouting: 'I don't say, I don't say!' Here, Jin Yong has already laid the groundwork in front, so it is written here that Guo Jing vigorously protects Zhebei's various behaviors, which has a strong rationality, and it will make the reader feel natural when reading.
03 Rationality is the only way to convince people
Why the special emphasis on the role of rationality in the novel writing process? Novels are basically fictional, they are not realistic in the first place, they are inherently unconvincing to the reader. If it is a real person and thing, it will be very realistic and can easily convince the reader.
This is much more difficult for the fabricated personnel in the novel. To convince the reader of what you are writing, you first need to rationalize the plot. What you write should be reasonable and convincing.
The so-called reasonableness is that the characters will be stimulated with corresponding emotions when faced with corresponding behaviors and facts, such as the mother in the novel who sees her child being killed by the evil person, and she absolutely has to struggle and scream, rather than cold indifference. That's true.
In fact, reasonableness itself means reasonableness. The so-called rationality is the inherent requirement of rationality, law, and logic. Rationality is more profound and more persuasive than reasonable.
Reasonable is the only way to convince people. The reader will feel that the various plots in your novel, because they meet the requirements of rationality, seem to be very natural, and seem to be very in line with the basic direction of human nature and character interaction. At this time, even if the plot of the novel is fabricated, they can be believed because they are reasonable.
If it is not reasonable, how can it be convincing? If what you write is abnormal, such as jin guo under the leadership of Yan Honglie to fight the Southern Song Dynasty, and as a result, no one in the Southern Song Dynasty soldiers and civilians rose up to resist, and finally they all surrendered with both hands, such a plot is definitely abnormal, so it will not be believed.
For such plots and actions, the reader will rebel in his heart, and they will not accept it. Such a novel is unlikely to bring a good reading experience to the reader.
How do you rationalize writing? The most direct is to highlight the rationality of the plot while describing. For example, when Duan Tiande took Li Ping all the way north, the rationality of his various behaviors continued to show along with the process of their journey north.
In addition, rationality can be portrayed by laying the groundwork. Why did Guo Jing save Zhebei? It turned out that he had already seen Tetsubetsu's heroic behavior the day before, so he sincerely admired him in his heart, and only then would he have the later rescue behavior. Such a rationality portrayal is a rational depiction achieved through laying the groundwork.
Rationalization is not only needed when reading novels, but also when commenting on film and television dramas. If it is unreasonable and unreal, then it is difficult to be convincing when such a film and television drama is made.
Compared with novels, the rationality of film and television dramas requires more. Many languages in the novel will cover each other, and readers will omit a lot of plot language many times, so the plot and language that are relatively unreasonable may not bring too much direct impact to the reader.
However, film and television dramas are different. Because they use figurative language to narrate, their impact on the audience in front of the screen is very direct and profound. At this time, if the language rationality is lacking, the audience will soon be able to find the loopholes.
In short, for the creation of novels or film and television dramas, rationality should be regarded as one of the important criteria. When the reader measures the level of a novel, it is obviously a very appropriate direction to take rationality as the criterion for judging.
