Today is the birthday of Mr. Jin Yong, a famous contemporary martial arts novel writer, Mr. Jin Yong can be described as a character that everyone knows, even if you don't like to pay attention to martial arts novels, but you must have heard of classic works such as "Luding Ji" and "The Condor Heroes". That's right, these unforgettable martial arts classics are written by Jin Yong.
In China, many post-80s and post-90s have grown up accompanied by Jin Yong, and these masterpieces have been passed down for decades and remade countless times. It is not difficult to see that Jin Yong is not only a dreamer, but also a dreamer.
He started his creative career at the age of 15
Jin Yong was born in 1924 in Yuanhua Town, Haining City, Zhejiang Province, his original name was Cha Liangyong, his ancestors were famous families, but in the later period because of poor business, some declined, even so, the family still has thousands of acres of good land.
In such a solid family, there are many books hidden, and whenever he has leisure, Cha Liangyong will soak in the pile of books and rarely go out to play. At the age of eight, Cha Liangyong first came into contact with martial arts novels.
When Japan launched a war of aggression against China and attacked Zhejiang, Cha Liangyong, who was already in the third year of junior high school at this time, and his classmates co-edited a reference book on guiding students to junior high school, called "For Junior High School Applicants", which was not only the first book published in Cha Liangyong's life, but also the first published in China.
The book sold well in several provinces after its publication, and the first pot of money Cha Liangyong earned at that time was enough for him to go to university, when Cha Liangyong was only 15 years old. In school, Cha Liangyong because of his hard work, so his grades have always been far ahead, although he is an excellent student, he is not very well-behaved, free and unruly.
With hard work, in 1940, Cha Liangyong was admitted to a local Zhejiang Union High School, because it was often necessary to hold posters in this school, so the well-written Cha Liangyong became a frequent visitor to running posters.
In the following year, because Cha Liangyong published an article in the poster "Alice's Wanderings", in which he satirized the capitulation doctrine of the director of discipline, Cha Liangyong was expelled and transferred to Quzhou Middle School in Zhejiang Province.
If being expelled from school is a legend, then it is really unusual for a person to be expelled twice in his life, and Cha Liangyong is so different.
The diplomat's ideals were shattered but he became a newspaperman
Although he was expelled from school, Cha Liangyong did not give up lightly, he still studied hard, until 1944, Cha Liangyong was admitted to the diplomatic department of Chongqing Central Chengchi University, which was founded by the Kuomintang to train political cadres, and the president was Chiang Kai-shek, chairman of the Kuomintang.
In this school, students from other parties often endured humiliation and were bullied by Kuomintang students, and Cha Liangyong, who had been unable to stand it for a long time, eventually rushed to the government office and asked why the teachers here indulged the Kuomintang students in their misdeeds, because of his dissatisfaction, and finally complained by the school authorities and ordered to withdraw from the school.
It can be said that this is the second time that Cha Liangyong has been expelled from school, and at the same time, his diplomatic ideals have been disillusioned. Without becoming a diplomat, Cha Liangyong did not regret it, in his eyes perhaps his personality is not suitable for being a diplomat, after all, such a profession will have too many rules.
Zha Liangyong, who was dissuaded, applied for a job as an international telecommunications editor in 1946, and with his talent, he was selected and entered the Shanghai Ta Kung Pao newspaper, officially entering his career as a newspaperman.
Because Ta Kung Pao wanted to set up a branch in Hong Kong, Cha Liangyong was directly sent to work in Hong Kong for work, and this transfer was the most important turning point in Cha Liangyong's life. Although working in Hong Kong was not a good thing at that time, and the development of Hong Kong at that time was not as good as Shanghai, as a newspaper editor, Cha Liangyong worked harder.
Until 1950, Cha Liangyong was transferred to the New Evening Post as a supplement editor. Under the attention of Rover Fu, the editor-in-chief of the New Evening News, he found that many people liked to pay attention to the competition ring, so he decided to invite the editor Chen Wentong to serialize martial arts novels in the newspaper and periodicals.
The serial novel "Dragon Tiger Fighting Jinghua", which was just created, received a great response after it was serialized. When Chen Wentong had not yet thought about what novel to serialize next after serialization, Rover had to find Cha Liangyong, who liked to read martial arts works, so Cha Liangyong embarked on his road of martial arts creation, and after the debut novel "Book of Swords and Revenge" came out, its response has surpassed Chen Wentong, and when he chose a pen name, Cha Liangyong split his name in two and became Jin Yong.
Open the road to martial arts creation
Dissatisfied with the theme advocated by Ta Kung Pao, Jin Yong resolutely chose to leave, and in 1959 he attracted old classmates and others to found "Ming Pao" in Hong Kong, and serialized the martial arts novel "The Condor Heroes" in his self-run "Ming Pao".
When this work was about to end the stage, Jin Yong serialized the new work "The Legend of Relying on the Sky and Slaying the Dragon" non-stop, at this time "Ming Pao" had gained a firm foothold in the Hong Kong community, and in September 1963, Jin Yong began to write works such as "Dragon Babu" and "Smiling Rivers and Lakes", but when "Luding Ji" came out, Jin Yong reached the peak of creation, and for some reason after "Luding Ji", Jin Yong closed the pen.
Throughout Jin Yong's creative journey, whether it is creative techniques or the portrayal of characters, Jin Yong has reached the peak of creation and influenced several generations.
After three marriages in his life, the suicide of the eldest son became a pain in the heart
Jin Yong has been married three times in her life, her first wife is called Du Yefen, the two met in Hangzhou, because Jin Yong was busy with work all day and did not have time to accompany her, and finally the two chose to part ways and went through divorce procedures.
And Jin Yong's second wife is called Zhu Mei, although Zhu Mei accompanied Jin Yong through the trough of his career, but when Jin Yong's career was successful, there was a rift in their marriage, and finally chose to divorce. Jin Yong's third wife is named Lin Leyi, and because of the breakdown of their relationship, Jin Yong reluctantly took the initiative to file for divorce.
Such a bumpy marriage did not become a pain in Jin Yong's heart, and the thing that made Jin Yong feel most regretful and painful was the suicide of his eldest son.
This eldest son was born to Jin Yong and his second wife Zhu Mei, perhaps because of the breakdown of his parents' marriage relationship, which became one of the reasons for the suicide of the eldest son Zhuanxia, in that painful memory, Jin Yong said that I was so sad after receiving the news of my son's death in the United States, I had to write a newspaper editorial that day, I was writing while crying.
The death of his son became the biggest regret and pain in Jin Yong's heart, an old man who remained humble forever and devoted his life and energy to writing martial arts novels, and in 2018, Jin Yong died in Hong Kong at the age of 94.
Finally, on today's birthday of Mr. Jin Yong, we sincerely hope that everyone will remember Mr. Jin Yong with awe at any time!
