Yue Fei was a famous general of the Southern Song Dynasty and the head of the "Four Generals of Zhongxing", and he was loyal to the imperial court all his life. He saw that he was about to help the Southern Song Dynasty recover the rivers and mountains, but he was killed by Emperor Gaozong of Song on the charge of "false accusations".
However, the "fine loyalty to the country" that we are familiar with is actually a kind of misinformation. Whether it is in the Qin Cavity Repertoire or Hebei Zizi, Yu Opera or Gezai Opera, Yue Fei is a classic image. As for the thorn on his back, it is said in "Jingzhong Baoguo" or "Mother-in-law's Thorn Character" that Yue Fei's mother stabbed him on his back in order to motivate her son - Jingzhong baoguo.
Yue Fei, who broke out from the Pingding Army, watched the soldiers being slaughtered and the people enslaved, and he had the heart to join the army again. But at the same time, Yue Fei was worried that the old mother, wife and children in the family would not be able to survive in the chaotic world. At this time of the dilemma of loyalty and filial piety, Yue Fei's mother, Yao Shi, understood the great righteousness and encouraged Yue Fei to join the army to drive away the invaders. In order to encourage her son, Yue Fei's mother carved four big characters on his back: "Be loyal to the country."
How did "serving the country with all loyalty" become "serving the country with all sincerity"? In fact, the record of the word "Jingzhong" comes from Yue Fei's grandson Yue Ke. He recorded in the Chronicle of the Emperor Xingshi of Ewang that because Yue Fei had meritorious service in suppressing bandits, Emperor Gaozong of Song in the third year of Shaoxing (1133) "gave Chenhan on the banner, known as 'JingzhongYue Fei', and ordered the first master to build it.". This record was later absorbed in the History of the Song Dynasty.
