"Mary and Marx" after watching the film review

author:Please call me Little Lee.

Mary and Marx is a clay animation released in Australia in 2009 as a semi-autobiographical film by the director. The main story is the story of two lonely people who heal each other through letters.

Mary has an alcoholic mother, a father who is interested in making specimens of dead birds, and she seems to be somewhat unfortunate, lacking the care of her parents and having no close friends. Similarly, Marx was a lonely man, and his life seemed to be even more miserable than That of Mary. It is precisely because of the same point that two imperfect people have become the best friends and the only friends of each other, and I think this is one of the reasons why Mary was so angry that he could not control him after publishing his book as a research subject, because for him, Mary's friendship was very, very precious, and he could not accept that their friendship had other purposes. Then when Mary began to become famous, when Mary began to get rid of the label of "imperfect", Marx felt that they were no longer the same, Mary was no longer imperfect, he felt that Mary no longer needed herself.

Marx's words of forgiveness for Mary touched me very much, you are not perfect, I am not perfect, there is no perfect person in this world. I forgive you because I understand that people are not perfect. We can't choose our flaws, but we can choose our friends, and I'm glad I chose you. When I was young, I wanted to be anyone but myself. All the flaws, all the me, that's part of the human being, and we have to accept it. Yes, each of us is imperfect, we can't abandon the person around us because of his imperfection, and we can't give up on ourselves because of our own imperfection.

I think "Mary and Marx" is the best 2D animation I have ever seen, there is sadness and happiness, Mary and Marx's feelings are love or friendship I can not make a judgment, but I know that it is always love, mutual healing love. Accepting imperfect self and others, communicating with love, I think, such a world should be better.
