Korean media: Samsung Electronics' smartphone production in 2021 exceeds 300 million units, which is encouraging

According to the news of the micro network, relevant sources revealed that in 2021, Samsung Electronics independently produced 238.88 million smart phones, and co-developed manufacturers such as Wintech and Huaqin produced more than 60 million units, with a total production of more than 300 million smart phones and a shipment of about 200 million units.

According to TheElec, although Samsung Electronics aims to ship 300 million smartphones in 2021, its smartphone production is encouraging in view of the re-outbreak of the epidemic in Vietnam, the global chip shortage, and the sluggish sales of the Galaxy S21 series.

It is reported that like the previous Galaxy S20 series, the annual shipment of the Galaxy S21 series is only about 20 million units, which is much lower than the previous sales of the S series (35 million to 40 million units).

Sources said Samsung Electronics believes that if there were no production problems in Vietnam due to the epidemic, the sales of the Galaxy S21 series could have increased. In order to increase shipments, while diversifying the parts supply chain, shipments of the Galaxy A and M series have also been concentrated.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is aiming to sell 334 million smartphones this year, of which 285 million will be produced in-house and the rest will be produced by jointly developed manufacturers. (Proofreading/Jenny)
