The film has successively held premieres in Shantou, Guangzhou, shenzhen and other places, simple but sincere emotions, recognized by the audience and industry insiders, everyone believes that whether you can understand Chaoshan dialect, you can get emotional resonance in the film.
Director Lan Hongchun said that three years ago, he made a cinema film in the Chaoshan dialect for the first time, and he got the support of everyone, so he had the opportunity to shoot this second film. He thanked all walks of life in Guangdong and the support of the audience for the film: "Guangdong has a good regional cultural foundation, but mainstream films rarely focus on them, so we decided to do it." ”
"Take You to See My Mother" tells the story of the inner growth and change that occurs in the process of conflicting with her son's marriage problem in the Chaoshan seaside town. The film uses the most realistic brushstrokes and lenses to portray a three-dimensional image of a Chaoshan mother, she is industrious, stubborn, traditional, poisonous tongue... She has all the advantages of a Chaoshan woman, but also a shackle of thought. But in the collision with the old and new ideas of the young son, because of the mother's love, the strongest wall in the mother's heart has been shaken.
The end of the film is presented in the current fashionable mobile phone Vlog method, and the son Zekai takes the mobile phone to shoot the process of taking his mother to Hangzhou. Why this idea? Director Lan Hongchun revealed: "In fact, the most fundamental reason is that we have spent all the funds before shooting this scene. Lan Hongchun recalled that in the first cut version of "Take You to See My Mother", there was originally no mother and son going to Hangzhou together, "but after watching that version, the team felt that they could have a better Happy Ending" (reunion ending)? Lan Hongchun said that at that time, he had the opportunity to think of a way to use his mobile phone to make up for the shooting, "shooting a scene similar to a mobile phone Vlog, which is the last 8 minutes that everyone sees now."
Like his mother in the film, actor Zhong Shaoxian flew on a plane for the first time in his life, "before the plane took off, her palms were sweaty, really nervous." Lan Hongchun recalled, "I was recording on my mobile phone, and in the camera she was in a daze, and suddenly turned back to the two of us (Lan Hongchun and Zheng Runqi, the son in the film), and said: 'Is mom useless?'" This was not a line in the script, but at that time, Zheng Runqi naturally replied to her: 'No, fool'. "This dialogue hit the softest part of Lan Hongchun's heart, and he immediately decided to add this passage to the movie." This is God writing the lines for us. ”
For the reconciliation between the mother and herself at the end of the film and the compromise of her son's love, the director explained: In reality, the traditional bondage and prejudice have caused too much separation of love, which makes us feel very sorry, which is also the starting point for us to shoot this story. So we don't want to continue to show this pity at the end of the movie, we want everyone to see love and hope. And we do see a lot of moms and dads of our generation changing for love.
