"Burning Winter": Under the ice, the emotions are turbulent
At the beginning of this year, "Burning Winter" directed by Chen Zheyi was shortlisted for the "One Concern" unit of Cannes at the 76th Cannes International Film Festival.
From spring to autumn, this movie finally entered domestic theaters, with a quiet flow of "love", and met the audience in the Qixi Valentine's Day stall.
The feelings between young people always come inexplicably, and the feelings between the three protagonists of this film are the same, there is no hot confession and crazy action, but the ambiguous and pulling atmosphere makes it not difficult for the audience to detect the undercurrent between the three.

Han Xiao has been confessing to Nana, but he is not obsessed with pursuing a result, he has a kind of uncertainty that is easy to meet and be at ease, it can be said that he is dashing or has no goal, just follow the tide of life and do the things at hand step by step.
Nana gave up her dream of being a small tour guide in Yanji, but also harbored an escape mentality, the scars on her ankles were actually imprinted on her heart, and she refused to interact with old friends and relatives, probably to say goodbye to her past self.
Because of chance, the three embarked on a journey to Changbai Mountain together, and in the frozen snow city, the companionship and warmth given to each other resolved the pain in the hearts of the three.
Finally, when Haofeng returned to the big city that forced him to suffocate, he was relieved, Han Xiao said goodbye to the small family that had survived for a long time, and chose to embark on the road of a long voyage, Nana once again found her skates, blooming confidently on the ice and snow.
From the perspective of narrative completion alone, the story of "Burning Winter" is not complicated, but the director's lens is extremely expressive, and in the dull daily interaction, there are slowly flowing emotional fluctuations that are difficult to calm, and the protagonist's eyes and interactions are traces of "love" happening.
The reason why the title "Burning Winter" is probably because love and companionship are like flames, which can melt ice and snow and warm the body and mind.
Han Xiao's hidden love in his heart is not divided into friendship or love, he often confesses Nana, but even if he is slightly drunk on the dance floor, he never goes overboard, and he often cares carefully for Haofeng;
Nana doesn't seem to care about many things, when she hears Han Xiao's song, she still silently sheds tears, her heart still longs for love and understanding;

He yearned for the scenery of Tianchi because he could not accept and tolerate the hardships of life like the endless snow-capped mountains and calm pools.
At the end of the film, several people regret missing the Tianchi in their hearts, but the beautiful scenery in front of them cannot see that their inner redemption has been completed.
