Such excellent results have been achieved thanks to the strong growth in sales of a number of star products. In 2021, BMW 3 Series, 5 Series and X3 sales exceeded 150,000 units; BMW 4 Series sold more than 13,000 units, an increase of 109.7% year-on-year; BMW X5 exceeded 50,000 units for the first time in the whole year, and the annual sales of X7 also exceeded 10,000 units.

In the new energy market that everyone is concerned about, in 2021, the global sales of pure electric vehicles under the BMW Group reached about 103,900 units, an increase of 133.2% year-on-year, and the sales volume in the Chinese market exceeded 48,000 units, an increase of 69.6% year-on-year. Among them, the pure electric iX3 sold more than 21,000 units in the first full sales year. Since 2014, the BMW Group has delivered nearly 140,000 new energy vehicles in China.

At the end of 2021, the BMW Group upgraded its China strategy with the theme of "Home in China", aligned its corporate strategy with China's development goals, adhered to the "China first" principle, and prioritized the needs of the Chinese market in new product development.

Therefore, in 2022, BMW plans to launch 26 new products in the Chinese market, of which new energy products will be expanded to 7, in addition to the iX3 and iX already on the market, BMW Group will also launch i4, BMW iX3, pure electric 3 series, a pure electric flagship model, and two plug-in hybrid models in China.
